Tl,dr - Highly recommended for people who want to get out into peaceful nature, but either don't want to drive far or have trouble navigating harder trails.
This is a lovely place, and for the most part, you wouldn't know that it's between two very busy main roads. The trails are entirely paved, with little elevation change and no real hills. This makes it perfect for anyone with mobility issues - especially given the number of retirement and assisted living homes nearby. Fishing is allowed in the ponds - I can't speak to the quality myself, but I've seen a number of people with fishing gear, so I'm guessing it's popular. That said, the trails themselves are wide and quiet, and I never felt cramped or overwhelmed like with some of the more popular trails in the bigger Metroparks.
The only downside is that since it's a retired golf course that's been/being rewilded, almost all the plants are relatively new growth, there's not much in the way of shade on the trails. Bring a hat and wear sunscreen, and bring some water with you. Also be aware that at the entrance there's an active party/reception center - don't let the crowds there scare you away, it usually gets much quieter as you go a...
Read moreThis is a good place to get a nice walk among the trees. It's a former golf course that the Metroparks have been helping along to get back to the natural state. The walking trails are almost all paved blacktop, making it easy waking or rolling. Other than one section nearest the fishing pond by Richmond Rd, there's not much elevation change so it's very wheelchair friendly as the trails were designed for golf carts.
Bikes are allowed but I don't see them very often. Dogs allowed on a leash and poop bags and trash cans are usually available at the start of trails in case you forget.
There are a few small shelters but they don't have picnic tables. Several benches are scattered around for resting and watching the birds.
It's a pleasant respite from the bustling shopping malls just across the street. I'm very glad the Nature Conservancy saved this land from becoming more...

At 155 acres, it feels like an oasis surrounded by busy suburbs. The trails are easy to navigate and great for families with strollers or dog walkers. I loved spotting deer, colorful birds, and wildflowers during my visit. The ponds add a nice touch, and fishing is allowed if you have a license. Clean restrooms and plenty of parking make it convenient. It's amazing how quiet and natural it feels despite being right off Cedar Road. Definitely worth a visit for some fresh air and...
