Hygiene: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 3.5/5
I came here on a summer evening with my family and friends. Some had wine others had cocktails but I'm mainly going to focus on my experience.
I was first greeted kindly by Max the waiter, he had a very professional approach with perfect timing. Never came too early, nor late, just on time.
I ordered a biscuit to start, I have to say, it was the best biscuit I've ever had. It was a smooth transition between a hint of honey and butter, served on a cast iron skillet. Soft on the inside but lightly crispy outside. As a drink I went with the homemade lemonade. It was great. Not too sour, not too sweet.
As a main course meal I decided to go with their smash burger with bacon and fries. I have to admit I was disappointed... The fries to start were very bland, the oil was not right. It tasted like cheap fries. The burger came on a homemade bun, with BLT. To start, the bread was homemade but the texture was all wrong, it was slightly stale in some parts and broke down as I was eating the burger. The bacon was probably the most disappointing. It was definitely sitting for the whole day. It had great flavor but completely destroyed the soft texture of the burger. There was a massive contrast in each bite. Soft, Hard and chewy. The bacon should've been crispy. The lettuce and tomatoe were good. Fresh. Perfect amount. The beef was tasty. Perfectly seasoned, soft and juicy. It went perfectly with the cheese.
I had a piece of my friends calamari and it was delicious. It had me thinking that maybe I didn't order the best dish. I would suggest next time having a go at the seafood.
The hygiene was interesting. The table was perfectly cleaned and so was the general atmosphere. The bathroom was very fancy looking but maybe just a little too much. The sink was overflowing leaving some puddles in the walk way. I almost slipped. However the urinals were accompanied by a small TV to ensure I didn't miss any games. The door was pull to open on the way out. Not good. After washing your hands you don't want to touch anything. Especially if you're going to eat.
All in all I would come back again, maybe try something different. Maybe the...
Read moreTLDR; Don't ever eat here if you have food allergies. Or if you like clean dishes. If you have an issue, the managers will not care. DO go for drinks, but only if Leon is behind the bar.
I love the atmosphere at CCG, but I don't think I'll ever order food here again. About a year ago, I had a friend visiting from out of town. We went to CCG because I really do like the vibe and the food is decent. The waiter brought us two waters. Both of our glasses were visibly dirty. I alerted the waiter and he made a joke of it. He switched my water glass with my friend's and said "Look! New water!". I get that he was trying to make a joke and it may have been funny if he had actually taken steps to bring new water, but he didn't. He just stood there laughing. Right after that, he brought bread + butter and plates. The plates were dirty. At that point, I asked for the manager and explained the situation. She seemed unfazed, as if I had bothered her for no reason. I guess it's silly to expect clean dishes in a restaurant.
Fast forward to last night when I dined there alone at the bar. I explained to the bartender that I had a food allergy, explained what I was allergic to, and he made sure he put it in the system. When my plate came out, as I was eating I noticed a stray almond (which I am highly allergic to) in my dish. Thankfully, I did not eat it, but it was still on my plate and could have ended badly. The bartender (who is a super nice guy and makes the best drinks in the city) was apologetic and went to get the manager, The manager came over with the demeanor of a politician on a campaign. I explained that had I eaten that almond, I would have had to go to the hospital. He brushed it off and said "oh, I hope not", then asked my name and shook my hand like we were at a networking event. He comped my meal (as he should have), but I'm not sure he understood the severity of the situation, which is...
Read moreWe made Reservations for my best friend‘s 31th birthday. With this being a more upscale restaurant the experience and customer service was more then below Bleek. Unfriendly, Unprofessional when we asked to be Accommodated with seating arrangements we understand there were two party RSVPs one for a table of ( eight )there were three remaining individuals waiting to be seated and we asked if we could be seated in the same room, the manager with the straw like hair further went to say that we were trying to around the system… ? Which system she’s referring to I don’t know. All we asked was to be seated in the same room with the party not seated at the same table which only seats eight but seated in the same room to celebrate her birthday. Funny thing is I work/live in this Neighborhood. I know how to treat people - I know how to be accommodating with me working neighboring next-door I would never ever step foot in this establishment ever again I would not recommend this place due to the fact of the experience and the service that was handed to us for our special occasion it was made less special due to Belinda! With the photo below there is an extra table that we could have been seated at with the remaining individuals of three so here’s a photo to show you that there was available seating that there could have been accommodations made to see the extra individuals of three. - Never Again - Calling Corporate btw!...
