I am white, female and I am over 30. I have been married for nearly a dozen years. Today I was stopped and asked for ID by a mall cop who looked to be maybe 17 himself. He literally "ma'am"ed me then asked for ID(ma'am is basically an insult in the North). My parents were shopping about 20 feet away in a store (they are in their 70's and move slowly, are hard of hearing and vision but I thought it would be nice to get them out to go shopping for a bit). Anyway, apparently in my 30's I look young enough to be harassed by a kid who looked like a child. Because there was a 3PM curfew for anyone under 21 there on Boxing Day. The day after Christmas. The day of all the final sales for the year. I'm just gonna call it. Totally BS. I have shopped all over the world. I tend to dress quite well - high end clothing, elegantly attired. I do NOT look like a child. The fact that these malls think they are doing good by stopping younger people from shopping after a certain time will lead to the DEATH of the mall. I promise you. Kids already mostly shop ONLINE for EVERYTHING. If you kick them out of the mall at 17 they may never return at 22. FACT. I saw 4 Asian women get harassed by a mall cop. These gals were sporting Chanel and for all the cop knew could have been over 40 years old. But hey - great idea to harass women that will drop 6,000 on a handbag at Saks. Genius plan Bucko! Needless to say it put a bad taste in my mouth and I am probably never going to return to Beachwood. I will keep to Legacy Village and...
Read moreAre you familiar with the saying from Rags to Riches? Unfortunately Beachwood Place is the opposite. We visited yesterday and left truly disappointed. Years ago you came to the mall and gazed at beauty and class...most days it seemed like New York Fashion Week...everyone was dressed to the nines! The mall was full of high end stores and restaurants...not any more! The palace has fallen into disrepair with the addition of odd stores, yoga pants and sweatshirts instead of classy work attire and a downright disgusting bathroom!! Let us hope Beachwood Place doesn't end up like a lot of the malls around town...abandoned and crumbling...the King and Queen long gone...
Update!!!!! My husband and I needed to run to the mall for a gift. He was at Kay Jewelers and I was at Nordstrom. While in Nordstrom I heard dogs barking!!! Two separate sets of people were actually shopping with their (non-service) dogs. Seriously? Now you can bring your dog to the mall??? Well that was nothing compared to when I went to meet my husband and he said that when in Kay they heard loud noises and someone said there was gunfire and most of the stores were pulling down their gates. I said we need to get the HELL out of here....got into our car and vowed never to return. Sure enough....on the news we saw that there was a shooting outside of Nordstrom!!!! This mall has fallen from it's former grace and has gone to the depths of...
Read moreThis is a very nice mall with great stores. It’s anchored by Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Dillards. I walked in to the mall through the entrance next to Forever 21. I walked into the mall and started walking towards the center. The mall is built so that there’s a hallway originating from each anchor store that goes towards the center of the mall. I got to the center of the mall, where I went down the escalator to the first floor. Down at the center of the mall, there’s a large sofa and several massage chairs which you have to pay money to use. The center of the mall also has a Cinnabon, which is nice. The roof above the center of the mall is made of glass, and there are smooth, skinny slabs of wood that coat the interior of the windows. You can really appreciate the woodwork on the window. From the center of the mall, I went up the escalator to go to the food court. At the food court, there was a Chick-fil-A, Sbarro, Subway, and random Chinese place where you could get lunch. I got some waffle fries from Chick-Gil-A, and they tasted really good. After I had my lunch, I walked around the mall some more before leaving. The mall has many nice stores, such as a LEGO store, Godiva chocolate store, Abercrombie and Fitch, Aldo, H&M, Forever 21, and Gucci. I gave this store 5 stars because it’s clean and has a very nice...
