This is one of the best thrift stores I've ever visited. It's actually my favorite store and I am not one really who loves to shop but I always find more than I was looking for here. They have quality items at fair prices much better than goodwill and value village and they actually have friendly and helpful employees. They are a non profit and donate to help feed homeless and low income pets. If you know someone who is needing to feed their pet and has been laid off or displaced or is homeless or just down on their luck check it out. They have dry food wet food cat and dog food samples treats toys and sometimes little surprise extras. They also do fundraisers to support a rotation of animal related projects or charities which is usually posted at the front counter change jar. Whenever I am shopping for anything furniture appliances camping gear cool clothes and electronics I know where I want to go to first to find steals. Every Monday they change the color of tags that is 25 50 or 75 percent off so you know there will be great deals you don't want to miss. The selection available for animal lovers for supplies and apparel is too notch and if your pet has food sensitivities or anything special they might require due to food allergies etc. they are happy to try to oblige. They do throw away many still very good things that I know some of those they serve could use more than the landfill and I wish that somehow those items could also go to another charity and find their right to live still to fulfill their purpose rather than the landfill, but with so much space and so many great donations, out with the old and in...
Read moreThey have a great mission. I really appreciate how they partner with so many other animal nonprofits. However, being entirely donation-based, their prices are pretty high for a thrift store. Things are priced equivalently to bougie overpriced Goodwills/Value Village and eBay listing prices.
They had some "collectible" items, but they should honestly just make an eBay account and sell those things there if they're not going to mark it at thrift store pricing to move it. (You can do that as a 501(c)(3)!) Most folks who shop at thrift stores are not looking for a $130 Fenton glass cat, or a niche $150 board game.
When you go to a thrift store you want to buy cheaper-than-retail prices, with a heavy discount if it's damaged. I know you have to keep the lights on, but if you truly want to help your community you shouldn't out-price them. I had no idea luxury clothing brands like Time and Tru (...Walmart) actually increased another $10-15 in value once they had been worn, stained/ripped, and donated, but wow! This place has some info that I don't.
I did end up buying a few things in the end, but prepare to spend some time there sifting through the sea of overpriced junk while getting followed around by judgy older employees. I think they could really benefit from doing some market research and looking online at how people feel about similar pricing hikes at Goodwill /...
Read moreFound a holiday wreath with no price tag that I wanted to buy in December 20023. Asked a sales person to put a price tag on it. She went to the manager, and then came back and told me that they could not put a price tag on it today, but I could come back tomorrow, and there would be one on it. I then asked to speak to the manager who told me that this is "the store's policy, and " if I make an exception for you, I have to make one for everyone. "I told her that I did not agree with this policy and thought it was poor customer service.I added that I shop regularly here and always make cash donations for the cats or dogs. I ended by saying " You just lost a customer." I thought about this afterward and realized I needed to say more, so I'm saying it now... Why wouldn't you make an exception for everyone or anyone? I'm the customer trying to buy something in your store. Isn't it your responsibility to see that all merchandise is priced and marked? Why am I ,the customer, being penalized for your mistake ? Why do I have to come back ? When a tag is missing on your competitor's( Goodwill) merchandise, the manager is called and a tag is put on it immediately so the customer can buy it ! I ask you to change your policy about this . I like your clerks who are friendly ; your merchandise is good; your cause is worthwhile. I just don't like...
