No stars due to the incredibly inhuman manager that was on duty at aldis today around 1:30ish. Let me tell my story so they know who they are that im talking about and who is posting this. So after buying groceries i went to truck to put my 16 month old son and my disabled mother in the truck, tried to start it and unfortunately the trucks battery had died. Asked a few people outside and nobody wanted to help or didn't have time. All i needed was a quick jump and i know im supposed to carry cables i just didnt think a barely 2 year old brand new truck from dealer would have that problem.well anyway....my ignorance but i needed help with no money to hire tow trucks help.Went inside aldis...Asked to speak to manager he explained he does not have jumping cables with him there inside store but has some in his car and told me to call the police and asked them to help and if they say no then he will help. But said the police normally help out. I used his store phone by the way that he handed to me. So Police did not help and they stated they don't do that and told me that normally the managers are supposed to help since it's their parking lot.....wellll I wasn't that upset since manager said he would help if the police didn't come so I didn't worry. So I waited for the manager to be called up again......to be told by him that he could not help me anymore...didnt say why just said sorry.knowing I had a baby he had no heart. Point of this is to show u what kind of people are running places.i know it's no ones obligation to help but I mean if there's something u can do to help another person or any living thing.. Why not help. Just like everyone who was there and heard me almost cry for help cuz it was cold for my son and mom.and nobody said anything...no offers. I didnt care about me but them and nobody helped until this kind man from way behind in the line yelled I'll help u. He kindly gave me a jump and exchanged some kind words and was on his way. God bless him. This kind man helped me and saved me from insulting this so called manger I wish I got his name but I will call corporate and will file a complaint. I hope this is seen by everyone and sees who they got working for them. I don't care if nobody cares or nothing is done or addressed to him. This is the first time I ever complained about a place like this but u know what nobody messes...
Read moreI’m a frequent Aldi shopper who visits the Lyons store several times a week. I’ve always appreciated Aldi’s efficiency, value, and friendly staff, but during my last visit, I was treated very poorly by the store manager. I will include his name once confirmed, but based on his description, he is bald, has a long nose, and large teeth.
This is the first time I’ve ever had an issue at this location. On this occasion, I forgot my physical driver’s license but showed a clear photo of my ID in which I’m physically holding the card. Instead of showing any understanding or flexibility, the manager refused service in a way that came across as unnecessarily petty and dismissive.
He stated that he needed to “see the reflection and material” of the ID, implying that my identification might be fake. In every previous visit, my ID has always been visually verified without anyone ever physically handling it. This sudden change in tone and exaggerated scrutiny felt unprofessional and disrespectful, especially given how often I shop at this store.
I completely understand the importance of policy, and I’m not asking for exceptions to be made lightly. However, I do expect to be treated with basic respect particularly as a loyal and consistent customer.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as I would like to continue shopping at Aldi without feeling disrespected or...
Read moreTried to shop today at the 39th St store. Arrived at 3:20 but there was a sign on the door that said closed until 3:30. The sign actually said closed until 2:00 but the time had been marked off and written in for 3:00, that was crossed off for written for 3:30. Multiple people were inside working and could clearly see us standing out in the cold. Not one person bothered to come and tell us (there were other customers waiting) that they had no intention of opening the store at 3:30. Finally someone knocked on the window at 3:37 and someone came to the door to send us away because they were not opening at the time they wrote down. Is it the end of the world? No, but it’s the coldest day of the year, people walked there and waited and nobody in the store thought to come and tell us chumps that they were not opening. Not exactly a pleasant shopping experience and will not go back to that store after the way we...
