Zacatacos — Restaurant in Berwyn

Customer service is beyond ridiculous!! I wouldn't recommend going here. I came in on a Sunday and ordered a steak burrito with cheese and cilantro to go. When I got home, I prepared myself to strart eating, expecting to taste steak, cheese and cilantro. Instead, I took a bite of a bunch of onion, which I hate, some cilantro along with steak that did not taste to be freshly cooked. It tasted as if it was their left over meat from the night before, that had been put back on the grill and reheated. I immediately called them to explain my issue, he said he would be able to replace it. I explained I would not be able to make it back that same day. He advised that I had 7 days to come in anytime during the week to pick it up. Two days later, I called and explained to the person who was taking orders the situation I had gone through on Sunday and was wanting to put that order in to pick it up, she said it was fine and that it would be ready in 15mins. I get there and mentioned I was picking up the order I had placed for pick up, she then proceeds to tell me the amount of the bill for the order. I explained that I wasn't going to pay it since it was supposed to be the replacement for the order they screwed up on Sunday. She then continued to tell me that I still have to pay, because the person I spoke to on Sunday did not have authority to make that decision, she said I should have came back that same day to pick it up. I explained that I was advised I had 7 days to do so. She still refused and said that I would still have to pay and that she was not going to give me "free food". Needless to say.. My argument went nowhere with her, I did not receive a refund, nor did she give me what I had originally paid for and did not get. I would never go back to this place, nor do I recommend anyone else to go there. The place is dingy, dirty, the floors are sticky. It smells like dampened mop in old dirty water. VERY DISPLEASED AND I AM A FREQUENT CUSTOMER. I had viewed the menu online before ordering to pickup. I've been to this Zacatacos several times and have always been very pleased with their food. This time I decided to try something different which is why I viewed the menu online. I ordered a gordita de rajas con queso. It specifically states online that ALL gorditas come with lettuce, tomato and cheese. When I called my order in I asked that they add beans to the gordita. I had Monica G repeat the order to me and all was correct. When I opened up my gordita at home it had NO BEANS and maybe 3 TINY pieces of rajas with ONIONS and with absolutely NO LETTUCE. I called Zacatacos to speak of what I had received and they told me the rajas con queso gordita doesn't come with lettuce. I told them online it says ALL gorditas do. They insisted no not the rajas con queso one. So then I explained how there were no beans (which I was charged extra for) and practically no rajas. THE GORDITA WAS BASICALLY JUST CHEESE, TOMATO AND ONIONS. The lady said her manager said they could only give me a credit for the beans they had charged me to add to it which is 50 cents! I laughed and asked to speak to the manager myself and she said the manager was busy. I explained again how there was practically NO RAJAS on my gordita. Just cheese, tomato and onions. She said again I could only get credit for the beans. I gave her the name on my order and phone number for that nonsense 50 cent credit BUT I guarantee you I will be calling tomorrow and ask to speak to the manager. It's ridiculous that I didn't get what I had asked for and what is specifically listed on their online menu and was basically told to f* off with my 50 cent credit. I really hope I get a manager on the phone tomorrow and have a better customer...

They always make mistakes. Never recognize or apologize for their mistakes. In the past it’s simple mistakes we can let slide: like being charged for lime and no lime is included. Or asking for a plain taco for our son and then putting onion and cilantro in it.

I ordered a Beans and Cheese Gordita, no vegetables.

They gave me a gordita with cheese only.

The thing was dry and hard.

I called to let them know and they blamed ME for their mistake.

I asked if they could remake it and they said they would just give me a side of beans.

I told them I’m not going back for a side of beans I asked for a gordita with beans and cheese. They made it wrong. I asked if they could put a note down for tomorrow. This hard piece of dough was $4 and it was to satiate a pregnancy craving.

No apologies, they were rude and condescending on the phone, told me I would be LUCKY to be able to come back and get a side of beans. Spoke with Laura over the phone and they were all arguing in the background instead of someone just saying “I’m sorry we’ll remake it”she told me to call back tomorrow and speak to Alexandra. This place used to be really good, the staff is absolute trash none of the cooks in the background yelling could take accountability for not reading an order ticket correctly.

Also when I called I spoke in fluent Spanish.

Nomas para que vean, que no importa si son latinos o americanos, aquí tratan a sus clientes mal y le hechan la culpa a los clientes por los errores que ellos comenten.

De cuando acá una gordita de frijoles con queso (sin lechuga y tomate) es lo mismo que una gordita seca, dura y con puro queso.
