All of the people running this place were very nice and wanted to help us succeed. Thank goodness they explained the locks to us or we would have had more problems! We did a level 2 challenge room with some level 4 aspects that were optional. The first thing that was disappointing was the condition and decor of the room. The rooms are quite small - I am not sure how 8 people would move around in it as it felt crowded even with our smaller group. Other than a desk, coatrack, two trunks, a large globe, and a few boxes, there wasn't anything in the room to "dress it up". There were some wall decals to represent a bookcase, a map, and a word cloud, but none of these were part of the experience and didn't enhance the appearance of the room. The globe was damaged with a large hole in it and the boxes and furniture had definitely seen a lot of wear. At first, we struggled with the mystery as each of us had our own notion about how to proceed. After about 15 minutes, we were given a hint that pointed us in the right direction. After that, everything seemed easy - maybe too easy. A while later, another team member came in to see how we were doing. He pushed another help hint on us even though we did not ask for it and we didn't need it. I know he was trying to help, but it took away from the experience rather than adding to it because we were already discovering the info on our own. We solved the room and went on to the "level 4" aspect of it. That part was definitely too easy as it didn't feel like a challenge, but like more of the same stuff. We have been to rooms that were more complex, more visually interesting, had multiple rooms to explore, had more interesting puzzles to figure out, and were more of a challenge. Even finding some of the loose stuff in this room was easy - there was simply hardly anywhere you had to look. All in all, was it worth $30 per person? Though the staff was friendly and the room (and the extras) took close to the allotted time of 50 minutes, it all felt too generic and "cookie-cutter" - like maybe all the rooms there would have the same experiences and puzzles simply with different themes. In addition, we wished for a more appealing setup and presentation in the room, so for those reasons, we will not...
Read moreWe arrived for our escape room time at 6:00 (15 minutes early as requested) and were told the room was not ready. It was suggested we use the bathroom and come back. When we came back at 6:15 the staff told us our room was still being cleaned. Nobody spoke to us looked at us etc until around 6:40 when a male attendant came out and told one of our party “Nose piece” because while her mask covered her nose it wasn’t tight enough. He then left without saying anything else. At 6:50 we tracked down an attendant which happened to be the same attendant and ask what was taking so long. It was asked that we arrive at 6:00 and we’ve been waiting for almost an hour at this point. The male attendant condescendingly told us, while taking a deep breath and clapping his hands together. “ I don’t know if you know this but we are in a pandemic and the rooms need to be cleaned.” To which I informed him “ Yes and it has been going for a year now. You should plan your schedule so you have time to clean and prepare for each group.” He attempted to interrupt me and I asked for the number for corporate. At this point he stormed off, telling the girl behind the counter. “They asked for the number for corporate. I am done with them.” What we expected was attention and timeliness. We received neither rudeness and emptiness was what we were given. The girl behind the counter issued a refund and we left. We were never given the number...
Read moreI have been to escape rooms all over the country, and this was one of the worst. You can hear everything from the rooms next to you as the walls do not go all the way up to the ceiling. It was so distracting. Also we played a harder room- but the only thing that made it hard was the random craziness of the information and puzzles. There was no logic as to which clue was attached to what. So yes tons of puzzles, but no rhyme, reason, or flow to the logic of the presentation of the needed information. Also there is no video monitoring or ways to give feedback via radio or walkie talkie etc. So when you asked for a clue the employee had to physically come into the room, and then had to figure out where you were in the puzzle. I’ve never seen a room run this way. It’s wholly ineffective. Also no creativity in the puzzles, just a boatload of dates and information thrown at you that may or may not need to be syphoned, and then entered into number or letter locks. One of our locks didn’t work and cost us 10 minutes. By the time the host got into the room and managed to get it open we were totally done with the game and burnt completely out. I would not recommend this place for anybody until they get some sound proofing and a new...
