Would give this zero stars if I could simply for how rude the staff is. My nephews birthday party was here and the lady on the loudspeaker was so unpleasant. I understand having to tell rowdy kids to sit down every all day is probably not the most fun job but you decided to work at a children’s carousel? The time slot for the “event” if you could even call it that, was two hours which is already strange to me considering 1. Most event space rentals are a minimum of three hours and 2. That time includes how long you have to clean up and be out of the space? They are basically charging people to put a couple of folding tables in a corner and have fastest birthday party you can in a space that isn’t even really private or contained from other guests and then rushing you out….And I do mean rushing, they started making announcement OVER THE LOUD SPEAKER that we needed to be cleaned up and out like 20 minutes before our time which is just so tacky. I’ve never been to party or event where the staff starts kicking you out over the loud speaker in front of all the other guests in the middle of your already incredibly short time slot. Very weird environment, staff that seems like they hate it there, and a waste of money for what it is. Don’t recommend booking a “party” here at all...
Read moreThe building and the Carrousel are beautiful! Of course, paying for parking stinks... I took our two daughters and two grandchildren (3 months & 18 months) yesterday and they had a very nice time. My eldest daughter was concerned with how fast the Carrousel was spinning... It actually made her quite dizzy. And it does spin fast enough that I could really feel the "wind" while standing approximately eight feet away. The scent and availability of popcorn is nice. And it is not expensive at all to ride. I purchased 6 tickets for only $5, which translated to three rides for all four of them (kids under 2 yrs old ride for free). My only real "beef" is that every employee that I encountered, from the Carrousel Operator to the ladies in the Gift Shop, seemed not to enjoy their jobs at all. The man running the Carrousel never smiled even once and the Cashier in the Gift Shop wasn't extremely familiar with the Inventory and had difficulty answering our (easy) questions about the products. In summary, it is a beautiful place and most kids will have a good time. But, it is not "magical" like it could be if the Employees we're a little more happy, outgoing...
Read moreIt is a pretty good place and a pretty good carousel but the one thing of all the visit the thing I was going there for the band organ the Stinson band organ was not on. I asked the operator why it wasn't on and said the drum is broken and I've been to the Columbus Zoo and they still play their organ when the drum and simble is not working and they still play it then why can't that one! When will they start playing their organ again that was the main thing I was there for and I do not think it was worth an hour and 20 minutes of a drive to see that they're not playing the organ they're just playing CDs if they started playing the organ again I would really appreciate that and on the website they said they still play the organ even when they do not, lies. they start playing the organ again or they update the website to say that the organ does not play anymore. Otherwise it is a very good place I enjoyed the gift shop and I've enjoyed the the carousel I enjoyed the outside seating just the only one thing that would make my trip better is if they actually use that...
