City Grille - Mansfield, OH — Restaurant in Mansfield

Really disappointing experience tonight. We chose this place because it was “open” til 12. We came in at 945, we ordered drinks. The waitress, Jersey, came back and inform us that alcohol sales were ending at 10, which was understandable because COVID. Our group used the restroom, no soap in the restroom and the towel dispenser was broken. She then informed us that at 10 they were going to only sell fried foods, slightly disappointing but that’s okay we made due and our table shared appetizers. She came back out with our food and dropped it off within 10 minutes of ordering, we asked for plates to share appetizers and some extra dipping sauces. Within 5 minutes she comes out with our check and stated “no rush on these” then immediately asks if we are ready for boxes. We didn’t receive our plates and you could tell she was already annoyed. At that point we literally just started eating, I definitely felt rushed and it was rude. She comes back after a few minutes of fixing our check and asked us again if we were ready for boxes. She constantly asked us if we were ready to leave, you can tell she was ready to leave. It was disappointing experience, if there a change in hours it should be listed. As I was leaving I looking around for hours and I didn’t see anything, and the open signs were still on. We chose this place because of the ratings and how late this place was open. I work in the food industry and I understand how frustrating it is when someone comes in...

Mixed bag here. Ordered lunch, and got a cheese steak and fries.

Before getting into the food though, it must be mentioned about the restaurant itself. It just reaked of sewage. When I first walked in I thought someone might have gotten sick. But after waiting to get my pickup order, I realized it was actually the scent of sewage.

Really gross. Granted, I'm sure it isn't a permanent issue. But considering it's my first time ordering food here, I don't know.

Thankfully I took my food home and ate in the clean air of my living room.

The cheese steak was pretty good. Nice melty cheese, steak was cooked well, and the bun was toasted just right. It could have used more seasoning though. Just lacked a bit of flavor.

The fries were fresh cut style, and on the thinner side. I loved them. The only issue is they weren't seasoned at all. Not even some basic salt.

All in all, the food was fine. But for the nearly $16 I spent, I would expect something more. Just salting the fries would have made a difference.

But when you factor in the stench of the place, I can't give a very high review.

I will go back in the future to give it a second chance. But as far as a first impression goes,...

So, I was here during the pandemic, when the restaurants were allowed to open back up. Nobody wore a mask, and my food was delivered to the table beside me. When the customer realized it was not her meal the waitress picked the plate of food up and took it back to the kitchen. The waitress then walked out of the kitchen with that same plate of food! I asked her, is that the same plate of food that you just sat in front of the woman over there? She told me, yes it is. I told her that I was not going to eat the food and she asked me why. I told her, you had just gave that meal to the person at the other table. A little while later, I got my meal, don't know if it was fresh or not LOL. Today, I decided to give them another chance. $4 for a fountain pop? Not once asked if I wanted a refill. I also had the misfortune of tasting the worst cup of coffee I have ever had in my life. And I've had a lot of bad coffee. My $12 chef salad was pitiful and my husband couldn't finish his Italian sub. The waitress was less than friendly..
