Ok I'll start by saying that I've stayed in many hotels in the area and the M-Star is my favorite. That being said the description here of the amenities is misleading. There is no pool, no self serve laundry, laundry is $8.00 but is done very quickly which is nice. There is no lounge or bar. No pool or hot tub. It is not a smoke free hotel as many rooms are smoking rooms. Which wasn't an issue for me as I am a smoker. Only some rooms have a mini fridge, but simply asking the front desk can remedy that issue, as they swiftly had one brought in. I've stayed in 3 different rooms and none have had a microwave but a community microwave is near the front desk for residents to use. The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, (except for one on the night shift). One side of the hotel's rooms have 2 doors. One to the inside of the hotel, and one leading to the parking lot which can be very nice. There is no restaurant on site which was a bummer because I was looking forward to eating when I got there, but it is conveniently located within close distance to many restaurants. Two of the big issues I had with all of my rooms is the lighting and the wall outlets. If you decide to stay here I Strongly suggest bringing a surge protector (power strip) if you plan on plugging anything else in. My room had two outlets one by the TV, which was used for the TV and a lamp, and one behind the bed, which had one plug in use by a lamp. So there was only one free plug to use. Also the only source of light was a dim ceiling light which is inconveniently placed over by the door, one bathroom light, and the two lamps are the only source of light for the "living/sleeping area". Unplugging one of those lamps to use for the outlet made it super dark. Also... Out of the 3 rooms I've stayed in, only 1 room had outlets in the bathroom which was frustrating when trying to blow-dry hair and do other post shower duties. The showers are walk in and very nice in my opinion. The water is always hot. Lastly, they have an on site convenience store that has pretty much all of your essentials needed for your stay like food, drink, toiletries, even cigarettes, available for purchase. All in all it isn't a bad place to stay if you know the problems before hand, allowing you to tweak them when you get there. For the price you pay, it isn't a bad...
Read moreIf your looking for somewhere to take a one night stand, or maybe you picked up a night walker, this is your place. At first glance just a little hole in the wall with a cute little convenience store attached. You are then greeted with bullet proof glass while you check in. Just not a reassuring sight I guess. Once entering room, complete nose dive. How this place is still passing code is amazing. The mattress has been through so much the springs straight ran away from the bed. Comparable to laying on a wood pallet with a couple blankets. The only good thing I can say is they did manage to find another 20 year old mattress which they swapped out with. As for the rest of the room, keep your food packaged unless you're looking for extra protein from ants. Ants everywhere. I get it, it's hard to keep bugs out. But why is there a 1/4 in. gap in between the door to the balcony? Is weather stripping or ANYTHING to fill that gap just out of budget? Water damage around the bathroom sink you can tell was recently worked on. Caulk all over the sink and counter that wasnt properly applied nor did it even seal the holes I'm assuming they were attempting to fill. Stains on the bathroom walls that look like years of smoking damage painted over and over. All around just not worth the $90 for one night. If there was anything else available in a 30 mile radius I would probably take a loss. Location is the only...
Read moreI wish I could leave a negative star review. Whatever “good” review you’ve read, it’s paid, they lied. My fiancé and I checked out within 20 minutes of being there. There was a weird burn stain under the night stand on one side. The shower was incredibly small, moldy, and hasn’t been cleaned since the 90’s. We had burn holes in the curtain, on the night stands and the bed sheets. I checked under the mattress for bed bugs and there was a urine stain on the bed skirt but thankfully I didn’t see any bugs. The walls had what I would like to assume were food stains but I can’t be confident about that. You can hear every noise going on at check in from our room. There were questionable people walking through the parking lot for the whole 20 minutes we were there. The carpet was curved up towards the wall to act as trim but was falling down and was absolutely disgusting underneath. The “high speed internet” they offer is less than 1mb download speed. There were no deadbolt on the door, just a chain. There was no way to lock the door knob from the inside so I’m unsure how it was locked. The front desk gentleman was very kind and understanding when we left. My fiancé and I decided to cut out loss and just leave. Don’t waste your time unless you’re going for less...
