On Christmas Eve (12/24/16) I went into the target store on Ina and Thornydale in Tucson. I had come into the store to attempt to exchange a vacuum I had purchased some month’s prior. My vacuum in tow, I approached the returns desk and was greeted by “Jasmine.” I explained my situation to Jasmine, she asked for my Red Card which I provided, and she attempted to find the vacuum I purchased. She couldn’t find the model number for the vacuum so she looked online to try and locate it. To no avail, she called over “Janet” who appeared to be a manager of some sort. She asked Janet for help. Janet quickly dismissed what I was trying to explain and asked me if I had the box for my vacuum. After few discerning looks, she said to me “If you don’t have a receipt, we can’t help you.” I said, “that’s unfortunate, there is nothing we can do?” She then replied “You can go to the shelf and bring me a box and we can look it up that way.” Slightly annoyed, I went to the shelf. The item is out of stock. When I returned, Janet quickly said, “no box, nothing we can do” with an attitude I would liken to a two year old who hasn’t gotten there way. I then said to Janet, that’s fine, I was going to just buy a new one anyways, but if your attitude is going to be like this to a customer, I think I will take my business elsewhere. She then responded to me, “good, go for it.” Following this exchange, I turned and said to Janet, “I’m sorry, your attitude is not appreciated, can I please have your name and store managers name? I am going to write a letter.” She then replied, “Go ahead and write a letter, it won’t change anything. You’re just mad I told you no. You’re the one with the attitude, not me.” I then said, “I am really sorry you feel that way” and left the store.
Now, I have worked in retail management, I currently am the director of public relations for a large insurance provider. While I am heavily tattooed and bi-racial, and today have a good deal of paint on me (I am currently remodeling my house), I wear a suit and tie on a daily basis and can’t help but wonder how my experience would have been different had I been dressed differently and of a lighter completion. Janet not only made me feel unwelcome in your store, but unworthy of any sort of customer service and looked at me as though I am some sort of common vagrant trying to work the system. Never in my life have I been treated with such disdain and disrespect. Janet was disrespectful, judgmental, disparaging, and worst of all, discriminating. The lack of customer service I received tonight, on Christmas Eve of all nights, is flat out shameful and frankly, an indignation. I have never had a more unpleasant and disrespectful customer service experience in my entire life, and certainly did not expect to have that experience at a Target.

I sincerely appreciate your attention to this matter and welcome a face-to-face conversation should it be...
Read moreWhile the store is good and the team members are great - the handicap accessibility lacks insight or empathy. 2 of the 4 carts are broken no longer giving visual battery or charging levels. 3 of the 4 do not hold a charge. When entering the store we have to fight our way upstream into the folks checking out and trying to leave the store. The cord for plug in are low to the ground and twisted between machines. I can no longer visit the store alone because of the challenges presented. I encourage you to view this as though you were me. A woman with Multiple Sclerosis, which causes you balance and endurance issues. So now you have to push past incoming carts, children and people leaving the store. You then have to try to find a cart that says it is charged, then you have to get low dig out the cord and get it unplugged. Then you have to be very quick in and out of the store because there is a 75% chance you have a cart that will die at any moment. Leaving you in a back corner of the store. To be fair this is not just an issue with this store. Every Target in the Tucson area has unreliable carts and inaccessible outlets. A little change could make a huge impact for those of us with mobility issues. Maybe you can mount the surge protectors so we can get to them easily. Replace carts as they break or become unreliable. For this store in particular maybe move the gift registry kiosk to the corner you have the carts shoved into and plug the carts in closer to the door with more space to maneuver. Little things can make big improvements in our ability to access and enjoyably shop at the...
Read moreI love this store but I don't like the service. Some of the people work there are lazy, rude, liar, and chatters. So I was cashing out but then I noticed I need one more set of the seasonal glassware so the cashier told me that she will asked someone to get it for me. So when she asked her coworker, he told her that he will asked someone there to get it. So i was waiting and waiting. Then when I arsked the costumer service, she said she doesn't know about the stuff and so I said that guy told me to pick it up and pay here. Literally the guy was chatting laughing with his coworker. Then he told me that he is still waiting and then radio them again and literally he told me there is no more left in less than 5seconomic and I said oh really?! I just saw there are lots left and I said I'll just go there and he said sorry. So when I got there, one of the lady worked there, asked me are you the one who asked for the seasonal glass set and I said yes. Oh I'm sorry for the wait , I have been trying to call him that there are still more left but he never respond. I said that is weird because he just told me that there is no more left. So I got more upset because why lie about it. Just be honest about it that he forgot about it. Rather than...
