This used to be the best Home Depot ever! Now the place is packed with employees who have no clue about any of their products. Not to mention how I have to run around the entire store trying to find an employee to help me in the first place. My last visit in Hardware resulted in the employee looking at me and saying she had no idea then just stood there staring blankly at me! I was so pissed after having to wait almost 20 minutes for them to find someone to come help me in the first place. I was determined not to respond to her but just to stare back at her with a look of expectation for her to find someone who did know. After several long awkward minutes she proceeded to pull out her cell phone and do a Google search. I had already explained that I had myself done the search and was seeking guidance between two products that I wanted to confirm the best option for my purposes. Within the same visit I had an almost identical response in the paint department. And even back in Windows and Doors! I sat down in a chair where an employee was on the computer. I did not mind waiting as he was clearly in the middle of something. Not once in the 27 minutes that I set there did he ever look up from the computer screen and greet me! After 27 minutes he said okay now that I'm done with putting in orders what can I help you with today? Seriously?! 27 minutes before you engage your customer?! Each of my recent visits has resulted in zero employee contact with me. I had fun one day marking how many employees walked by me while I clearly was looking for something and did not know where it was, made eye contact with them, and they walk right on by me. There were 11 in that single visit alone! In addition 2 these new rude and a knowledgeable employees they're also is an influx of complete dangerous and sloppiness as well! Shelves completely empty with an employee opening boxes in the aisle ways and stacking things all across the floor to restock the empty shelves. I'm talking 25 boxes opened and emptied with product strung 25ft down the aisle stacked dangerously high on top of cardboard displays and teetering in corners! No Pathway to get down the aisle and the kicker is no employee Insite because they have walked off! I don't know what the heck happened with that store but management should be appalled by behaviors exhibited! The same is happening out in the garden area. Multiple visits have resulted in blank stares with answers like I don't know what that is or I have no idea with every visit. And talk about disappointing... The people in our towns lost everything in Hurricane Irma and the holidays were quickly approaching. Not a single Christmas tree one for the entire month before Christmas knowing full well that everyone in the community would need either a live or fake tree to make it through the holidays with a sense of normalcy. Today 2 days after Christmas I walk in to the Home Depot in Homestead and there are at least 75 boxed Christmas trees in the clearance aisle. Seriously Home Depot?! It's not enough that we've lost so much and our county has failed us and not only debris removal but funding to rebuild and now you have an exorbitant amount of trees available an hour and a half away but you cannot send them to our local store when we are trying so hard to buy them?! Another failure in management at this location I assume. Now there are a handful of staff that still remains that are absolutely incredible! There is a guy in the paint section, two guys over and Plumbing, Frank down at the pro desk, the young guy over in Tool World, and the guy who works at the water department during the day but tool world at night, and a couple of cashiers and customer service ladies. Maybe 8 employees total. I am hoping to hear from other local soon that new staff has been brought into our local Home Depot. In the meantime I will enjoy all of the great employees that I have met at the Home Depot in Homestead until changes are made Hanley Marathon Florida...
Read moreAs with so many other businesses in the keys these days, most of the time you might as well expect the employees to not only not understand what you are saying but also to be unknowledgeable about..... well pretty much everything.
I have been a painter for 16 years and occasionally I like to quiz the employees working in the paint department.
Just to see what they know.
Especially when visiting a new store.
That way I know what I'm dealing with when I go back there.
I went here recently to purchase a new high volume low pressure spray gun.
I walked in to the paint department and began looking at the airless sprayers and waiting to see how long it would take for an associate to come by.
It was quite awhile before I spotted one and I had to walk around and look for him!
He was not nice at all .
I told him what I was looking for and he led us back around to the airless sprayers and blankly pointed at them.
I explained again the type of product I was looking for and he stated that there was no such thing in the store and that Home Depot did not even carry that or anything like it.
I was dumbfounded by his answer.
I decided to try and HELP THE EMPLOYEE since he obviously had no clue whatsoever.
I asked him if he thought maybe there might be what I'm looking for in the tools section like around the air compressors possibly?
He bluntly stated that there would be nothing there.
He might as well have said I don't want to talk to you and I don't want to help you get out of my store.
I thanked him and walked over to the tools and selected what I needed.
There are employees all over the store standing around just staring at the customers or talking to each other.
In a time like this (especially) why is Home Depot not only hiring but continuing to employ such people?
What I'm going to say next may sound unreasonable to some but the way I see it.... Home Depot of Marathon Shores is hindering the process of rebuilding the Florida Keys by keeping this type of unhelpful employee and they are not...
Read moreAs a Loyal HD customer ,I am sad to say you should never order impact windows through Marathon's special services department, I was quoted on the windows , signed a contract with Home Depot 8/23/21 and an install date of 4/1/22. I had a couple of updates that everything was on schedule, even had to make a special 1000 mile round trip to do a second measurement. In March 2022 a week before install I was told they could not install the windows on the 4th floor. The salesman had contacted and explained the the height and floor situation prior to signing the contract and the second measurement the question arose and the Home Depot rep called and got the approval again. I was offered a $1000.00 to go away and sign a release for on terminating the job. I had offered to buy the windows and have them installed but they refused. Personally I think they underbid the job and never ordered the windows , I have ask for proof and nothing happens. I have contacted customer service several time and they keep going back to the area manager and he denies any liability. I have ordered new windows that will be installed August but cost 8k more due to price increases and at least a $1000.00 for the remeasure trip to Florida from Tennessee. You may not want to do business with the Salesman: Ricardo G. Garcia Rossi , area supervisor; Sebastian Aguirre ; Christopher Messon Branch Installation Manager HDIS South...
