Best Little Pawn Shop — Attraction in Marble Falls

Apparently, you need to keep your receipts for LIFE—not just weeks or months.

I’m 71 years old. I’ve shopped at this pawn shop for years, spent good money there, and trusted them. But after what I just went through, I will never step foot in there again—and I hope no one else does either.

A few months ago, I bought a necklace and a bracelet, paying nearly $1,000 in full, with my card. A few weeks later, I returned to the store hoping to exchange the bracelet because it didn’t fit well.

To my shock, the manager said they had no record of my purchase. Not in the system. Nothing. They demanded a receipt, which I no longer had. I tried to explain that I’m not very familiar with banking apps, and I genuinely didn’t know how to find the transaction right away.

Instead of helping or showing any understanding, they accused me of stealing the necklace. They claimed if I didn’t return it, they’d call the police.

And then they started harassing me—calling constantly, intimidating me, and making me feel like a criminal. All over a necklace I bought honestly and outright. I was terrified. I lost sleep. I kept thinking, What if they actually arrest me?

What’s even worse is they acted like I still had time to “make it right,” when in reality, they had already filed a police report against me. A detective had been assigned to the case. They lied to my face and kept the pressure on.

What they never considered is this: if I really did steal it, why would I come back to the store? Why would I ask to exchange the bracelet? None of it made sense—and it shouldn’t have to, because I didn’t do anything wrong.

Thankfully, my son got involved and was able to find the transaction buried in one of my accounts. He sent it to the police and cleared everything up. But even then—no apology from the store. Not even an ounce of accountability.

And honestly, I have to ask: If I paid with my card, why wasn’t there any record in their system? It makes me wonder if the employee who sold me the items did something shady behind the scenes—because that’s not my responsibility. I paid honestly, and they failed to track the sale. That’s on them.

I want to warn anyone—especially seniors like me—keep your receipts forever. Don’t trust that a business will do the right thing. I learned the hard way that even longtime customers can be accused, harassed, and humiliated without cause.

If you value your peace of mind, stay far away...

I do not like being spoken down to. At all. By anyone. Yet the brunette lady with the severe ponytail whom set up my loan is curt and condescending when she speaks to me. I came in today to pay on my loan. When I got the loan, the condescending lady informed me since it was my first loan, if I paid it off in 30 days, I would not have to pay interest. She did not state that I had to pay off the loan all at once to do so, it was not eligible to be paid off in more than one transaction within the 30 days. Keep this in mind, this is a predatory business practice; not being upfront about all the hidden caveats in place by the pawn shop. This is manipulative and I am glad I get the chance to tell the public about it. I’ve never purchased a gun where the gun shop takes my money and than sees if I can purchase a gun. Yet at this establishment when I came in to pay my loan (to get my guns back) they take my money and than see if I can legally have my guns back? Seems kind of backwards to me. Instead of speaking to the rude lady I approached the gentleman with the receding hairline, beard and glasses as to why that is the case. He looks at me, throws his hand up in some gesture to indicate how could you be asking me a question this dumb; and says and I quote…… “Um, uh; that’s just how our system works.” All this being said, this is directly too the manager and or owner. Your employees are stealing your money by malingering at work. There is too many people on the floor doing nothing, while customers are left standing with no information; and treated like loiterers while we wait. I'm sorry to your employees for bothering them with my questions, I generally manage my finances well enough that I don’t have to use a pawnshops services; but since I have been treated as poorly as I was here. I assure you I will not utilize your services in the future if I ever need help again, I look forward to pasting this review verbatim to every other review site for your business; and I look forward to telling every single person I meet for the rest of my life how unprofessional...
