I had intended to write this review some years ago but it slipped my mind, however, since I reside in the community and frequently drive past Park West Vintage, I experience a strong and visceral reaction each time, and today's drive-by was no different, so I've finally decided to post a review detailing my personal experience. Not sure why today was the day, maybe it was the "No Kings" protest near the Trader Joe's in East Cobb that motivated me.
At any rate, on a past visit to the shop, I was met with an unwelcoming atmosphere. Upon entering, two old white women behind the counter stared at me without acknowledging my presence. I purposely paused to give them time to greet me, however, that greeting never came. Eventually, to break the awkward silence and stares, I smiled and loudly said 'hello!', and received a barely audible, forced, dry, mumbled "hello".
I decided to browse the store briefly, knowing I wouldn't return, and was watched closely by these two women.
Unfortunately, this kind of treatment is not foreign to me as a black woman. I often leave my purse in the car to avoid being misconstrued as a potential thief when shopping. Imagine feeling the need to do that, and being so privileged, that making a decision on whether you should bring your purse into a store is something you never even have to consider.
Given the unpleasant environment, I didn't linger and left the store promptly.
Although they may sell beautiful antiques, I won't be returning to Park West Vintage.
Regrettably, I didn't note the staff's names because I would have loved to call them out by name, and perhaps all employees there are not like that, so I don't want to condemn the entire staff.
Notably, just before I exited, a white customer received a warm greeting upon entering.
I love, and am a constantly returning customer of Marina Marina in the Square, where I am welcomed, treated warmly, and with the respect all people deserve. I even feel comfortable bringing my purse in with me! I highly...
Read moreHorrible when it comes to customer service I have experienced this several times and thought maybe this time it might be better...but is wasn't..the Caucasian lady and they Asian lady are too concerned with their cell phones to even look up and acknowledge me or even speak.. These women apparently are hired just to be clerks and not good clerks at that . there is no customer service given to anybody at any time . Apparently this is an ongoing issue by reading the other reviews the owner must not care about customer service as this has not changed in the years that I have gone in there. I would rather spend my money somewhere where they at least say Hello when I walked...

I noticed a customer in a wheelchair was browsing through the whole store, it impressed me because it's wheelchair friendly, especially with all the glass ware and porcelain in the store. The owner, is having 80% off glassware and porcelain, I saw an area with beautiful earrings to my surprise they cost from $ 1.00 to$ 5.00 , and they come in a beautiful string bag awesome!!! One has to experience every section in the store, it's a different experience and adventure! I recommend...
