My folks, Allan and Wanda McPherson living at 342 Linda Way spearheaded the building of this little gem in abt 1954 along w Contractor and friend Don Martin. They took around a petition getting neighbors to agree to deeding back portions of their back lots to create the park, then they convinced further neighbors to donate side lines for the pathes… I forget who donated the land for the utility entrance on Ross Ave….
Dad built the interior fence, sometimes with help, otherwise alone w Mom bringing him lunch and a beer at noon.
Once it was all set up and equipment had arrived, they invited neighbors to a pot Luck Saturday work day to assemble and install the equipment.
In case you didn’t know the street names came from Don’s children, Linda, Jean and Ross….and Kay was his wife! Very much a community effort! I have no idea if any of the original owners still live there…
Feel free to use what I have written as part of the history of the Park…
