1960's decor. Perfect for a coffee shop breakfast or lunch. Location? Behind mega corporation buildings, hidden from the grind... a throwback in time with a twist: very good food.

I didn't like this place when I first went here years ago - too much like a traditional coffee shop from an era gone past where the food was okay but ehhh. Now, I understand that the new owners are the very same that owned Small Shed Flatbread in downtown Mill Valley. That place had great salads, sandwiches, and of course, bread.

Not knowing this, I hesitated when my friend suggested we take the kids there. I only agreed (thinking in my head) that it's one of those "do it for the kids" treks. I was surprised. I looked at the menu and it's expanded. I thought, okay let's see... brunch. BLT. When it came, the bread was glorious and the rest of the ingredients fresh and tasty. One of the best BLT's I've had. I was shocked because I had the old memory. The fries too were great. The eggs (my friend got) looked great too (and I don't really like eggs alone that much).

Taste. Check. Presentation. Check. Service. Coffee shop level - expectation check. About the only downside is it's a tad higher than you typical coffee shop pricing but not out of line. It has to stay in line as this isn't downtown Mill Valley and they won't be around for long if it becomes unreasonable. People must think the same because it was full with a steady stream of people coming and going. The Dipsea has some serious, if not charming competition with character and of...

My husband and I stopped by Shoreline Coffee Shop on Sunday, April 17th. We travel full-time so we're always looking for fun, local, independent places to try. We were coming from Point Reyes continuing down the PCH so wanted to fuel up for the day. We both ordered their breakfast sandwiches. My husband opted to have his "as is" and I opted to customize mine with sourdough toast. We love breakfast sandwiches, and while there were high points of this like the tasty bacon, we did not feel like they were very well executed. They were both absolutely drowning in butter. I grew up in the Deep South, so I'm no stranger to butter and am all for it in moderation, but this was oh so much butter. The toast was so soggy and with copious amounts of butter and cheese plus the bacon it was just grease overload. I literally couldn't finish mine as I was feeling sick from just how greasy it was. Also worth noting, I ordered a side of hasbrowns, extra cripsy, and they were cold - like refrigerator cold. I have no idea how they were cooked but still that cold, they must have been frozen and just not cooked anywhere near long enough. They were bagging up our order as my husband stepped inside, so it wasn't like they had been sitting around. This was a complete disappointment, especially since they are so many good places to eat just a little...

This is an AWESOME local place! The food is great and there's something for everyone. If it isn't on the menu, they might just make it for you anyway if they have the ingredients . They source locally grown organic and their menu reflects that BUT there is plenty of choice. I see some take issue with the $$$. It's the least pretentious place in Mill Valley but the quality of the ingredients mean that the cost will be slightly more than the 'average diner' however, it's not going to cost more than 90% of the places in the Valley and at least they source locally an put that money back in to the community. If you are vegetarian, there are options that are delicious, same with full on vegan but, if you are looking for somewhere that they only have foodstuffs for those who don't consume animal products this isn't the place for you. The scent of bacon cooking is hard to ignore ; -) The cheese hash browns, (OMG, I could eat them every day, they really are that good) breakfast sandwich and meatloaf are our personal staples but I hear they have other standouts on the menu which runs the gamut~ a little smart ordering and the assistance of your wait person make it so you can have a delicious vegan rap or a full blown 'hangover' breakfast. Either way my service/food has always been fabulous even when...

The food was bare minimum as it relates to flavor. My husband and I sensed very early that we weren’t welcomed in this establishment most of the folks working there kept an angry look on their faces. We didn’t stay long but my husband asked for another cup of coffee to go and the waitress said she would have to charge us for that and my husband said ok a man brought the coffee but she had taking a payment, we advised him that we needed a new bill to pay for the to go cup of coffee and he looked at us like we had four heads Shortly after very shortly after the waitress, who told us that stated she just talked to her manager, and he said we didn’t have to pay for the to go cuppa coffee. It’s Funny, we are brown people too just not Mexican. I would not recommend supporting this restaurant

INCREDIBLE DINER!!! This has the feel of a nice, small town diner. It’s busy because it’s good. Ample parking and the staff was excellent. I had the eggs, bacon and English muffin meal. Eggs were cooked right and the English muffin was not just the ordinary store bought version. Taste was good, ambience was nice, restaurant seemed clean. Very happy with this breakfast. Note - their homemade hot sauce is incredible - it’s habanero based so it’s hot, but excellent!!

Breakfast of blueberry pancakes, bacon and cup of earl grey tea. The food is good, but expensive. That's Marin County. Service was good, not great. Took off one star because the fork still had bits of old food stuck to it and the sugar dispenser was greasy as hell. Shoreline is obviously very popular because it was really busy on a Sunday morning. They need to be better at keeping the place cleaner. I would eat here again.
