For sure, this is a hidden gem!
Our experience was great, beginning to end!
We were greeted by Luan, the owner, as soon as we entered. He made small talk with us even though they were clearly busy fulfilling orders. He was very friendly and treated us with so much kindness! The overall service was phenomenal!
Banh Mi Zon has some of the best banh-mi I've ever had! The bread they make and use for their banh-mi sandwiches is soft, fresh, well-risen, light crumb, and very delicious! If you eat a lot of banh-mi like I do, you know that the quality of the bread can either make or break a sandwich. Here, you won't have to worry. This place has top-notch banh-mi bread!!! I haven't found superior quality like this anywhere else!
The meat was flavored well and very tender, and veggies were fresh and crunchy! It was all proportioned well.
I got the beef bulgogi banh-mi and highly recommend it! My sister had the spicy pork belly banh-mi, and my husband ordered the bbq pork. They both loved what they ordered and also raved about it!
The restaurant was clean and aesthetically pleasing. Vibes were great. Really loved the simple and sleek design of the place! And the self order kiosks were awesome!
Literally, there are too many good things to say about Banh Mi Zon! We'll definitely be returning whenever we're nearby. ☺️ Thanks for an amazing and...
Read moreI read so many positive reviews of this place, I couldn't wait to try it. First of all, it's not a welcoming place to sit and eat; the tiny plastic tables and glaring lighting make it pretty uncomfortable (it appears that most of the orders were call-in and pick up.) And it was pretty popular: though there were only a few people in there, my order took at least 15 minutes because of all the to-go orders in front of me. I had the pork belly, which appeared to be a little more than crumbles of leftover pork belly on cold noodles. Perhaps the pho was better, but I've been spoiled - on Clement Street alone in San Francisco, there are three or four better places with lower prices. The people behind the counter were lovely, but you have little interaction with them since all ordering...
Read moreOrdered chicken and tofu pho which was extremely subpar. Broth heated up in plastic bowl (ewww microplastics) in microwave , then poured into a metal bowl. Broth was served luke warm, noodle so-so, chicken slices were scant, dry like cardboard, tasteless , unable to chew and swallow. Probably not real chicken! Broth was very salty, bland with out any flavor depth, had to add hot water which made it worse. Tofu was previously fried but obviously not fresh, tasteless. Would not recommend this place . No Vietnamese employees present, prepackaged ingredients thrown into plastic bowl. Nothing made fresh in this place. Employee sweeping carpet while we were still eating, not pleasant with dust flying about. One other patron in the place, would not call this...
