This spot has none of the charm and grit of the Polk St spot. It looks like a copy and paste of Johnny’s donuts. The donuts are those over priced “fun” flavors that you feel slightly scammed on. The prices are not posted anywhere and they would not accept cash. $3 for a single donut that had the same flavor, texture, and mouth feel of a generic grocery store donut. Even with the extra fancy flavors, it didn’t add any flavor. The overwhelming flavors were just sugar. The store, the vibe, the donuts have the same vibe as any other hipster modern bougie donut spot. This is truly a donut spot for those Marin families who wouldn’t feel “comfortable” going to the Polk St spot during non peak daylight hours. Glad we tried it once but would not recommend to anyone craving a donut.
The employees were 5* though. Beyond friendly and super tolerant of the entitled customers they had to deal with (it was a long line, so got to watch a lot of interactions including one dude selecting 4 dozen donuts without advance notice and another parent demanding a free donut hole for...
Read moreAfter nearly 3 years of telling myself, “One day I’ll finally try a donut from Bob’s Donuts,” that day finally came—and it was worth the wait!
I’ve always been a loyal customer to my local donut shop in San Rafael, but today I had the chance to stop by Bob’s Donuts in Mill Valley, and I’m so glad I did. As I met Ryan Murphy, a young high school student who works there and truly represents the shop with excitement and positivity. His energy was refreshing, and he took the time to ask what kind of donuts I usually go for. After I told him that chocolate is my go-to, he highly recommended I try theirs—and I’m glad I listened.
The chocolate donut was impressive—great texture, rich flavor, and clearly made with care. Bob’s Donuts has a delicious recipe that sets them apart. They’re definitely more than just another donut shop—they’re a local gem at 252 Almonte Blvd, Mill Valley, CA 94941.
Big thanks to Ryan and the Bob’s Donuts team for a truly tasty treat. I’ll...
Read moreBob’s Donuts is my all time favorite donut place to this day so when I stumbled on this location I was ecstatic. I did not know they had opened a shop in Mill Valley, I’ve only ever tried their original shop on Polk street or their recent expansion in the city. This was a nice and convenient treat after a long day hiking.
Not only does this spot have lot of parking in front but the inside is very clean and modern. They had lots of freshly baked donut options to choose from but I always go with just the classic plain glazed which has to be their best. On this visit they had some seasonal ones like pumpkin custard and apple cider which also looked good.
Will be back and make sure to stop by anytime I’m hiking or exploring in...
