Morrison's Lobsters, Kittery, Me .....Lunch 7/16/16
Absolutely ripped off!! We (4 adults and one 10 yr old) paid over $130 for 3, 11/2 pound lobsters (Which takes virtually no prep or skill, throw into a pot of boiling water till red), 2 bowls of luke-warm, mediocre clam chowder/lobster bisque ladled out of a hot pot and 3 canned beverages. Not much prep to this order. The service was dismal at best. I think they were upset that we didn't order additional lobsters even-though I politely explained that Asian people eat "Family-style", ie everyone shares directly from common serving dish. There were two servers who made exactly 4 stops at the table between them: take the order, bring the beverages, bring the chowder, and finally bring 3 lobsters with three sides of melted butter but no utensils/nutcrackers etc.....nothing! After chasing down the server that had brought the lobsters, she said, "Oh I thought the other server already brought them to you". There were no follow-up stops at our table, not even to bring the bill. After we chased down the second waitress and requested the bill, we were told "Oh the other waitress has it'. Since we hadn't seen the other server for quite a long time I asked if she knew what the bill was and she said "$137". Seeing as my brother-in-law and I were arguing as to who was going to pick up the tab, it didn't really sink in to the size of the tab or that they never brought the two sides of potato salad and the one of cole-slaw that we had originally ordered. My brother-in-law beat me to the punch producing a credit card. At which point the server said "Cash only". Unbelievable, in this day and age, especially in a touristy area! Luckily, I had the cash to cover it. So we all returned to my vehicle. Then it dawned on me how badly we had been ripped off and that we hadn't received all that we had ordered. My wife, who was the only one other than myself that speaks any English went back and confronted the waitress concerning the un-delivered items. The waitress refunded $4.50. But, since we never received an itemized bill.......partially my fault for being distracted trying to celebrate my sister-in-law's B'Day. We don't know whether that was the correct refund or not. I do know that we were grossly over-charged and received terrible service. It was around lunch-time and the establishment was not particularly crowded and fully one third of the potential customers that came in didn't stay to order. They must have been more attentive than we were. The only reason we didn't go to Warren's, where I have never been disappointed was that we were planning to go to a restaurant in our home area for dinner and the other members of the party wanted a little lobster for lunch. Without question one of the worst dining experiences...
Read moreI purchased a sub at a SUBWAY restaurant located in Pepperell Massachusetts back in April of 2017. When eating it I began to choke on a plastic piece of mesh that was attached to the bread. I almost choked to death and when I contacted subway about the incident they instantly shut down the location I purchased the sub from. After months of trying to get some kind of resolution from the incident they told me nobody was at fault. I almost died because of a dirty disgusting franchise that was never shut down even after previous complaints from other customers ( that I later read online) . This is highly insulting but yet no one will take responsibility for it. I still have the sub with this piece of plastic black mesh stuff that was cooked in to the bread. Because I consumed the product I have no idea what side effects may occur down the line as well as any I may already be suffering. SUBWAY has shown they do not care about their customers in the past by having their products endorsed by a known pedophile. They only care about money and not about you or me or any of the people they put in danger. They said "It was just an unfortunate incident and nobody is at fault" then offered me a free sub to make good!!! So tell me why they closed up the subway I purchased my sub from for good if it was "Just an unfortunate incident" they told my lawyer there was nothing they could do and to move on. Had I chocked to death I wonder what they would have told my children?? Sorry move on kids!!?? Sorry Subway I'm not moving on!!!! You are a disgrace of a food chain that needs to be held accountable! I will continue to shame this company in public forums and all over social media until someone makes this right with me! SUBWAY does not care about you or me... #subway #Subwaysubs #lawsuit #dirtyrestaurant #Disgusting #jaredfogle #boycottsubwaysubs...

They freely give your full name, zip code and email address to businesses and make no effort to protect consumers or even facilitate discussion. Google and other major review sites are much safer.
After writing a negative but accurate review last year. I have spent the last three days being punished. The company used BBB-supplied information and began strong-arming me to change the review. I thought a surprise nasty call at work was bad, but it wasn't over.
The BBB jumped in. This BBB started questioning the review (not a complaint, but just a review), demanding proof (documentation) for the negative review (a year later) and making me jump through hoops to keep the review up. Note: Even the business agreed that the review was accurate. My requests for help from the BBB were responded with incredibly rude behavior. I was shocked. This BBB was even worse than the business owner.
As some other reviewers here have stated...it certainly appears that this BBB has become much less consumer-friendly than it was. Most other BBB chapters are professional and generally helpful.
If you need help, then please consider going to the MA Attorney General (CARD program) instead. They are consumer-oriented (not business-oriented).
If you have a negative review, then do NOT use this BBB's website. Google (this site) and other major review sites are more...
