Me and my girlfriend are avid movie buffs, we typically frequent the theater at minimum once a week, our typical spots are the Pinnacle in Turkey Creek and Downtown West Theater. We have frequented Foothills on occasion as a matter of convenience as it's the closest to us. Our prior visits were mediocre at best, insouciant concessions clerks and dirty theaters be damned when it's a short trip to the theater after a long week, this trip however was nothing short of the absolute worst customer service experience we have ever had the displeasure of being subjected to. This theater, previously a Carmike joint, has recently been purchased by AMC. Since me and my girlfriend frequent the theater so much, we had invested in year long memberships to Moviepass which is a membership service that allows a movie per day viewed at any theater for a low monthly membership of $10. Basically they issue you a mastercard, you check in on the app once you reach the theater of your choosing and they load the full amount of the ticket onto the card and the cashier simply processes it as any normal transaction. Moviepass is in NO WAY affiliated with AMC, so AMC receives 100% of the benefit of a full purchase price movie ticket. When we walked up to the concession stand to purchase our tickets we advised the cashier that we have an AMC Stubs membership which was forcefully pushed on us by a cashier during a trip the week prior. He had pushed a paid membership but we were apprehensive because we had both read that AMC was not being hospitable to Moviepass goers which we naively dismissed. Luckily we didn't purchase it as the kid at the counter informed us that we could not use the AMC Stubs membership rewards as we "Were only paying a $10/month membership for moviepass", like I had mentioned before, Moviepass is not affiliated with AMC and the theater receives the FULL amount of the ticket price REGARDLESS of how I choose to pay it. I advised the cashier that we typically frequent Regal theaters (Who have a much better rewards system btw) and they have never us any hint of an issue. The kid then proceeds to get confrontational and states that "Well, they will probably end up revoking the points". I was unaware that AMC's training was chock full of courses on basic economics, other theaters corporate policies and other miscellaneous trivialities when they should concentrate more of their efforts on making their staff operate with at least a modicum of hospitality. We won't ever be returning to this theater, or any AMC theater again, if our Moviepass money is not good enough for them, that's cool, it spends just fine at Regal, apparently they can afford to lose...
Read moreso me and my friends drove to see the twister movie, after stopping by the drive in movie down the road at around 9:40 lastnight (which was sold out). All 5 of us decided to come just see it in theatres. Around this time quite a few other people are walking in to see movies as well. Well we get to the front to purchase our tickets and first- we were all trying to stay together, so we stayed in one line the entire time so that we could all stay together. The cashier (was a girl I assume🤣 with black and red hair and glasses, didn’t catch her name) told us the movie had already started 10 mins ago, and we decided we still would like to see it (mind you our group of friends is not the type that you can’t stand, we are calm and collected in public) she kinda cops an attitude at that.. well then the first two people in our group check out, and it’s one more and then us. Well the coworker asks her something and she gets mad and throws her hands up pointing at all of the people who just walked in and says this is because everyone just walked in or something. This girl is also the person who kept saying “anything else” after every thing we attempted to order. So then our friend goes on with his popcorn and drink, and the cashier throws her hands up because he didn’t grab his ticket?? And she was like well he just walked off without his ticket.. first of all it doesn’t matter, when you guys don’t have someone standing at the movie doors??!? Like be for real, that’s ridiculous. Anyways we finally purchase our tickets (at this point we’re fed up with her attitude.) and we get our popcorn and everything to head to our friends and go into the movie. The cashier was incredibly rude, and I hope someone said something to her (because I should’ve). The movie was a 10/10 definitely enjoyed that. The popcorn was good, but it made all of our stomachs hurt after. So overall everything else was good besides the cashier. I think everyone who dealt with her lastnight could agree that she was incredibly rude. But we didn’t let that ruin our movie, so we still had...
Read moreMy husband and I went to see the new beetle juice movie last night, we were about 30 minutes early maybe and wanted to get food first. We looked at the online menu before hand to get an idea of what to order. Once we got to the register the person working had the most awful attitude he said they were either out of everything we asked about or flat out acted like I was an idiot for trying to order something that was on their online menu ended up trying these mini burgers that they microwaved to oblivion they were hard as a rock on the top then on the bottom completely soaked wet with grease I’m thinking. I’ve never seen something so disgusting. Couldn’t even eat them so my husband got them to exchange for something else but the woman couldn’t even tell it was a burgers she thought it was a hotdog. The drink machine also was messed up or they haven’t changed the syrups for some time everything tasted like soda water. Besides the food kinda being trash completely, a rather obnoxious and loud group of teenage girls I’m assuming because it would be a shame if they were actually adults came in and one girl plotted down and said she was going to sit right behind us I could hear her friends asking her to sit somewhere else because it seemed like she wanted to try and bother me she said no I’m sitting right here and putting my feet up which would have been on the seat my husband was in. He was fixing the food situation so it seemed like because I was alone she wanted to try and get a rise out me idk why or what was her deal so we ended up moving seats. Once they seen my husband come back they did start acting different I could only imagine what would have happened if we stayed in those seats. But long story short that experience made me realize there is no enjoyment from going to the movies anymore people have made it impossible to just have a good time and watch the movie I wanted to happen since I was kid. I don’t think I’ll be able to bring myself to go...
