I am very happy with my experience at Smokey Mountain Coin and Jewelry. I recently purchased two bullion coins and two numismatic coins from this firm. The coins were exactly as described over the telephone. The salesman was friendly and knowledgeable about bullion. The prices on the bullion coins were about 8-9% higher than the internet (including shipping) prices. They are also higher than the prices paid in Knoxville at coin shops. There was a fair selection of junk silver, numismatic and bullion silver coins. I was allowed to look thru the coins to pick which ones I wanted.
All-in-all, I would rate this as a favorable experience. I would say that the attentive, knowledgeable staff and selection would make up for the higher prices, and will continue to use this vendor for smaller purchases. In addition to the coins, this dealer had a wide variety of what appeared to be estate jewelry including several gentlemen’s...
Read moreI have been going to jewelry stores for 50 years and never have I been treated as poorly as I have here. Granted, it was to review items that had been stoken from me but from the moment I walked in the owners wife was snippy. While reviewing tye stoken items she placed aside those not identified on the INITIAL police report, as if to say they were intendinh on keeping them. Im sure had I gone in with the intent to purchase " 2 Rolexes and a Tag" as she alluded to my treatment may have been better. I mild a very mild comment about trust and the witch went off! Methinks she needs postmenopausal meds. I returned to apologize...and instead of graciously accepting it, she went off again! I also caught them in a lie regarding CZ jewelry! Oh, and they are WELL VERSED in the ins and outs of thelaw and...
Read moreAs you've seen from some of my previous reviews I'm a coin collector. I've looked high and low for places to buy coins and bullion. Smokey Mountain Coin & Jewelry doesn't disappoint with quantity and selection. They have coins, bars, constitutional silver, certified coins, and bullion coins. Thier prices are a little high but are equivalent with a coin shop. The coin show has prices closer to spot price. They are however way better than a pawn shop. They also buy all of the above. I even got $25.00 for bringing someone in that sold gold. They were fair with my friend buying some rings. The staff is really nice and easy to deal with. I would reccomend taking a look as the inventory changes...
