Mason Antiques District — Attraction in Mason

SIL invited me out for the day to cure some cabin fever. The weather was nasty so there was just a handful of customers and we were the only ones in the store sometimes. The first building we went into was #8 the Old Mill. We took our time looking around and I was enjoying checking stuff out. Not once was I disrespectful or complain about the high prices and even found some small things to purchase. There were two men behind the counter at the cash register. I figured they both worked there because they both had interacted with my sister in law (giving prices). Even before I cashed out, the one old man would turn his back to me everytime I came near him. So when I went to pay he was the only one behind the counter, he turned his back to me again and made it very obvious he would not wait on me. I finally asked him if he was going to take my money. He looked at me, got up and told the other guy he had a customer. I have never been treated that way and for him to be so blatantly RUDE just confirmed that I will NEVER set foot in there again. This antiques district has gone through some changes since I was last here a little over a year ago. Some shops closed, and others are clearly under new management. Overall I felt like most of the shops were less cluttered, which can be good and bad depending on how much you wanted to look through versus how skinny you are, lol. Prices vary between sellers so I can't really rate that fairly, but I did manage to find several interesting player piano rolls for a great price, so I'm happy! 2025-08-30 - 5 Stars Staff was very pleasant Lots to see inside and outside, make sure you have a flashlight as lighting might be limited in certain areas and certain booths and you wanna make sure you look in every nook and cranny. We did find two items a.k.a. treasures. One item completes a bowl set for Hall radiant wear that I’ve been looking for at least 14 months for.
