Weāve booked with AliāI resorts 3x now and have had good experience each time. This trip had a bit of a lack of communication. We were told there would be construction 4 floors above us but when we got here the unit directly above us was under construction and had constant and loud construction noise for the last portion of our trip. (Our last 2+ days were a complete write off with the noise. Not exactly Worthy of a $1000+ price tag that went with it.) We have young kids, 1 that naps. We were also given 24 hours notice that we would be without power for 4 prime daytime hours. If we were given more notice we would have arranged to be out for that day. This made the trip more than a little less desirable with young kids. Not exactly what we expect when we pay so much for a ārelaxing holidayā. We also found a viagra pill under the table that my 2 year old almost put in her mouth. No fault of Aliāi resorts, but the response was a āthank you for letting us know.ā We will say that they are always quick to respond when we have questions or concerns. When we needed ant traps they delivered them the next morning, no questions asked. We understand that most of our issues this trip were no fault of theirs, but if we had known there would be so many interruptions we would have possibly chosen another unit. We wish there was much better communication; however, the unit we stayed at this time is beautiful. Outside of needing some additional maintenance, we would stay in this unit again.
Edit: We stayed at the Royal Mauian this time and it is by far the best location/condo weāve stayed at in Maui. The unit needs some maintenance such as cosmetic items (new paint), maybe lower the twin beds (3 mattresses/box spring high), new appliances (1/2 the microwave buttons donāt work, just old), only two mismatched wine glasses. Needs a good replenish of the supplies - but a great unit! Canāt beat the location to the beach, pool, grass, and shops. Itās perfect for families with young kids not having to lug everything up and down the stairs. Would...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow, what an incredible spot! We love the Royal Mauian condo complex and 506 is one of the very best units there. The view from the balcony is right down Kamaole 1 Beach so you wake up to beautiful sand and surf every morning. The beach, with perfect sand for sandcastles, is literally just outside the back door of the complex. The ocean has gentle waves here that are perfect for swimming kids and you can even snorkel right there among the sea turtles. Unit 506 is super clean, well appointed with everything you need, and has air conditioning units in the living room and the master bedroom to keep things cool. The second bedroom gets a little warm but with the living room A/C on and a fan (available in the unit) you can ensure a comfortable sleep. It has been recently renovated and the showers in each bathroom are beautifully tiled with walk-in glass doors. The little kitchen has all the equipment you need and the new fridge has a filtered water tap inside. The management company Ali'i Resorts is awesome to work with. They make check in and out super efficient and easy and are available by text or email for any questions at all. Our A/C made some funny noises and after a text they had someone out to look at it that day. We were so impressed! Coffee on the balcony to watch the surf and the action on the beach in the morning, and a drink on the balcony in the evening to watch the sunset - this place is truly the best!! We would gladly return here and will as...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall, this was a really good experience. Interior could use a little updating cosmetically as some spots are worn down inside, but a beautiful location. We loved the sunsets and enjoyed the hot tub at night. We stayed in unit 121, which is a ground floor, west facing unit. It was awesome to be able to walk out our patio door to the ocean and lounge on the nice grass right outside.
Some minor issues:
According to Aliāi Resorts, checkout time is 10. With that said, the information package from Sugar Beach says 11. Not a big deal, but both companies should be on the same page. The bedroom did tend to run warm at night, despite ac being left on. Because this unit is on the ground floor beside the parkade, we could also hear people at times in the morning. Also, Aliāi resorts will solicit you for a same date return next year, albeit with a discount. For us, that actually meant we would pay more. Didnāt seem like a good deal. Just worth noting. Itās a good business practice, but not great if a discount means a higher daily rate. Again, minor concerns.
All of that said, if you are looking for a stay for two people, this is a great choice. More affordable than Wailea, not a ton of rain in December (it was calling for rain for days but barely rained at all), and lots of amenities close by. Quick and easy access to highways to anywhere on the island.
Would definitely recommend...
