Escapology Escape Rooms McDonough — Attraction in McDonough

I was surprised other reviewers gave this place such high praise; my group had the absolute worst experience playing the Scooby-Doo room. I was part of a group of 5, which included my sister, both my adult daughters and my 7 year-old nephew. Our excitement was quickly deflated by the incredible rudeness of our Game Master Cassidy. In fact, she was so rude that my group (especially my nephew who called her 'grumpy') was taken-aback by the tone in which she spoke to us. It took the pleasure out of the game from the very beginning.

This was our first escape room, and definitely our last at the McDonough location. It felt almost pointless playing when Cassidy kept asking us questions throughout the game to determine why some of the clues didn't unlock. Not only did this take time away from our game, it made the game seem shabby, old, and the mechanisms dysfunctional. Playing the game with so much interference from the Game Master and the clue mechanisms not unlocking quickly, or properly to reveal more clues/solutions took the motivation out of solving the puzzle. My group's experience was definitely inhibited by a dysfunctional escape room, and a rude Game Master. Master Cassidy should be fired. I had an incredible time experiencing The Antidote at Escapology! From the moment the game began, the atmosphere was intense and immersive — you truly feel like you're racing against the clock to stop a global disaster.

The storyline is gripping: you're a team of scientists trying to recover a stolen virus and create the antidote before time runs out. The room is well-designed, with high-quality props and realistic lab equipment that really set the tone. The puzzles were clever, diverse, and well-paced. Some were quite challenging, but that made solving them even more satisfying.

What stood out the most was how well the game flowed. Each clue built on the last, and the logical progression kept the adrenaline high without ever feeling overwhelming. It was the perfect blend of teamwork, critical thinking, and fun.

The staff was welcoming and explained everything clearly before we entered the room. They also gave just the right amount of help when needed — never giving too much away but guiding us in the right direction.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was me and my son’s first time ever doing an escape room—and we had an absolute BLAST! We accidentally picked one of the harder rooms (😅), but it didn’t even matter. From start to finish, we were fully immersed and had such a great time.

We were (trying) to solve puzzles using Morse code, longitude and latitude, and even doing math under pressure. I haven’t had to think that hard since high school! 😂

HUGE shoutout to Vasia & Martin—our game leaders and literal lifesavers. We definitely hit that help button over 20 times (maybe more but who’s counting? 👀), and they were patient, encouraging, and friendly the entire time.
