This is another amazing shop in downtown McKinney that is so far away from me it makes me want to cry. Because I live almost 45 mins away, I found out about this place when some coworkers brought popcorn to work. When I saw that they offer Pizza flavored popcorn I told my husband we had to IMMEDIATELY check it out - along with Funky Monkey Shaved ice (see my review for info on that place as well).

Mom and Popcorn is family owned and you can tell by the amazing service you receive. The popcorn choices were more than I could have imagined so I was absolutely delighted (and astonished) when they told me I could try the popcorn before I bought a bag of it. Both people helping my husband and me were super patient because, let me tell you, we tried as many flavors as we could because we couldn't just settle on one - we walked away with 4 bags of popcorn and they were all gone in a week. They also have customized flavors they offer monthly so what you see on their menu is not what they are going to have every time you go in. This month one of the flavors was a Puppy Chow mix that my husband absolutely loved and I had to admit was very tasty, even with the peanut butter in it - I'm not the biggest fan of peanut butter.

On top of the popcorn goodness, walking into the store felt like I was stepping back into my childhood (like the opening scene of the Barbie movie...lol). Inside was every single candy I could possibly imagine from necklace candy to Chuckles to cigarette gum (I know, I know). I could have stayed there for a good 30 mins just walking around but my kids didn't have the same appreciation for my nostalgia so we left after 15 mins. This is an absolute go to spot if you are in downtown McKinney and I can't...

Let's say you're in this wonderful historic district following your friends wonder helplessly looking for that one special gift for the holidays(while shaking your head the entire trip), and pass by this store. Then on the third trip passing the store, you go in. EUREKA! This place rocks and stocks some of the best sweets that shaped the entire candy industry. Oldies, but goodies, new fangle this and that, it's here at this wonderfully quaint spot that's often crowded on the weekends...(heck even thru the week at times). There are many popcorn specialty places every where that offer quality popcorn with an array of flavors. This Mom and Popcorn store ranks in the top 2% in my opinion. Additionally, There are a few pieces of candies that are absolute treasures to eat but difficult to find. So if you're ever here in this area, do you self a favor and stop in. Kudos to the owners for having a wonderful candy shop that help my friends find that perfect unique gift. My feet thank you so...

I ordered online. A week went buy and never received my delivery which was supposed to be free. I call to find out what is with my order and now they want to charge me for delivery. So I pay and extra $8 and they tell me I’ll have it in 2-3 days. Another week goes I call again and they tell me my order was delivered 3 days beforehand. I tell them that I never received anything and ask where they sent my order. Apparently they shipped it a corporate office where it was signed for that is no where near where I live.

So now, I ask them to either send me my order to the w dual address where I live. I am then told if I want my order I have to pay again. I ask for a refund of my money and they won’t give me that. The only thing they do is give me the address of where they delivered my order and say good luck.

I had to call up my credit card and have them refund my money! So unprofessional, I will never use this place again!

This store should...

I stopped by this shop on a recent visit to Downtown McKinney. What a absolute hiddem gem! This store has the feel of a vintage old-school candy shop, with nostalgic candy from all eras going back to the '50s. Lovely place to bring the kids with something for every sweet tooth, even fudge. The popcorn flavors are so unique! They offer jalapeño, blue raspberry, piña colada, bacon cheeseburger, and so many more. The staff was friendly and patient with me. I love spending my money to support small businesses that offer quality products and excellent customer service. Definitely worth the trip, and I will come back.

My coworker brought the McKinney Popcorn bag to the office as a snack for the holidays. It's a mix of carmel and jalapeno cheese. A nice kick of sweet, savory and spicy. I decided to take a trip to the shop and find out what other flavors they offered. It's located in downtown McKinney, so parking can be bad if you are arriving late in the day. The shop is small, but the service is great. The cashiers are always super friendly and helpful. They offer samples to try their different flavored popcorn. The shop also offers a variation of candies, knick knacks, etc. It's worth the trip to McKinney.
