I have to start by saying that I was seriously debating writing this review at all. The Single Star is regarding this visit and not previous. Alas, I really don't understand what happened to the Front Of House service crew, which is the primary reason for speaking out.
The Call: I called in an order and spent 10 minutes explaining what the order was. Perhaps the gal taking my order was new, or perhaps she didn't know the menu, or maybe she was trying to be funny, but it ultimately was bothersome. Her lack of attention to the overall order was troubling.
The Pickup: As I mentioned earlier, this was not my first time picking up here, and have always had the hostess find my order, collect everything into a bag, confirm it was correct, then cash me out. Upon arrival for my take-out order, I needed to interrupt the conversation between the two hosts to let them know I was picking up. Then, rather than the process I just mentioned, was met with a snide remark saying, "You have to go over there." It was such a slap-in-the-face to me, as though he was saying 'um...excuse me but I was talking and I don't care about you, can't you see that I'm busy!'
Departure: Obviously picking up pizza isn't rocket science, but my order was about $50 for pizza and wings and I thought this would come with quality service. Mellow Mushroom's product is good, dining in is usually a treat, but this experience has left a negative impression that triggered my desire to look elsewhere next...
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews, but after my recent experience on Saturday, 10/19/2024, I feel compelled to share. As a coach, I brought my players and their families to this restaurant for a celebratory dinner after a long day. This meal was important to me not only as a break but also because I was still working—building my program and representing myself professionally. Unfortunately, my evening was disrupted when a staff member made an inappropriate comment, hitting on me during a conversation.
I understand that some people may think this is all in good fun, but as a woman working in a professional capacity, it was completely out of line. Not only did it make me uncomfortable for the rest of the night, but it also set a poor example in front of my players and their families. I noticed that none of the male members of my group, including my father, were spoken to in this manner.
The fact that I, as a woman, had to experience this while trying to enjoy a meal with my team is incredibly disappointing. I brought customers to your establishment to have a good time, and instead, I left feeling disrespected. If I were a man, I doubt this would have happened, and it's disheartening to think that this kind of behavior is apparently tolerated.
I hope the management takes this issue seriously, as no one should feel uncomfortable or disrespected while dining at your...
Read moreOur family visited this restaurant over the weekend. We just chanced upon it and oh boy! what a great choice it turned out to be! They even had a vegan menu and the vegan choices were excellent! The waiters were friendly and took great care of us! Having said that, I do have a callout to make. There was a photo of an Indian goddess, Maa Saraswathi hanging by our table. This goddess is worshipped by the Hindus, and is revered for Her knowledge and wisdom. Goddess Saraswathi’s four arms symbolize a variety of profound concepts: Her front arms depict the Goddess' activity in the material realm while the back arms, activity in the spiritual realm - the four elements of inner life which include mind, intellect, ego, and consciousness. .
The photo of this goddess is culturally appropriated in the artwork at the restaurant and we take strong offense to it. The photo depicts the Goddess wielding a slice of pizza and a pizza cutter in two of her arms. While I’m almost positive that there was no malicious intent here, it is my responsibility to call out a representation of this supreme goddess that strongly hurts the sentiments of Hindus all over the world.
I request the restaurant to replace this picture with something more pertinent and appropriate to your culture and context. I would greatly appreciate this immediate call to action on your...
