I had an amazing time!! I came for fresh eggs, but I'm not going to go there, I'll just say I passed on the lady in the corner with the eggs. 😑 But I ended up with: -flavored THE RIGHT WAY pecans, I brought three: bourbon, lemony something, and cinnamon something... I just REEEEALLY remember the bourbon 🥴😋 by La Pecane -delicious local honey from two different vendors(one is very pricey, the other very reasonably priced, both tastes great). -AMAZING muscadine grapes! -Tam's Biscuits and Gravy. Tammy and Terry offer so much more than that, to make a few aka what I bought: tomato basil soup; gravy (of course), biscuits (duh), chicken salad; pot pie soup; smoothies... YOU NAME IT!! 😂😋 AND it's ALL abSOULutely delicious. These two also provide a service and vibe that can't be matched anywhere I've been in my 7 years in Memphis!! 🫶🏾🙏🏾 -Gooey butter cake, variety (my the favorites are: ube (Filipino ), classic and the green one. -Crumble Cake and Champagne jelly made and sold by the two beautiful sisters. homemade cookies and muffins: chocolate chip, and also peanut butter... very young entrepreneur doing her thing with her Mom, Godmom and brothers!! 🏆 -MiMi's ginger smoothie -'Feenin' all natural smoothie (you have to try it, out the others, for yourself to ingredient unlock the code, he'll tell you if you ask nicely) -More chocolate chip cookies -AND A BEAUTIFUL START TO MY WEEKEND!! IT'S A GREAT SPACE TO BE IN. GOOD VIBES ONLY (except in that corner... just sayin') BUT GO OUT AND SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL FARMERS AND VENDORS. THEY'RE THERE FOR YOU SMILING AND WAITING WITH GOODIES MADE WITH ALL SORTS OF LOVE, JOY AND MEMPHIS FLAVOR!! I'll grab some unblended ,(not smoothie) veggies next time
PS: go pick up a few eggs anyway... who...
Read moreGO TO THE COOPER YOUNG FARMER'S MARKET. THEY WERE ALL SET UP AND WERE REALLY NICE AND HELPFUL. SUPPORT LOCAL PRODUCE BUSINESSES THAT ACTUALLY CARE
I visited on a Saturday at 9:10 AM, fully expecting to find the place open, as advertised hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Saturday. To my surprise, I was met with over ten staff members standing around, with nothing set up. When I asked for clarification, no one seemed to know what was happening, nor could anyone explain why nothing was prepared. Some even flat out ignored me. The complete lack of organization and professionalism was alarming.
It would have been helpful to communicate clearly if you weren’t prepared to open for the day/the days you arent open in general as I am seeing other reviews such as this with no response and clearly no viable solution on the horizon. This level of disorganization/professionalism/basic human manners is exactly why people become disillusioned with establishments like this. When the staff lacks professionalism, critical thinking, and courtesy, it reflects poorly on the business and discourages people from returning. It also says a lot about you as "people." Using the term loosely here as "people/humans" actually have manners/courtesy/professionalism/and a means of growth and change. Clear communication and customer respect are essential for success—qualities that, regrettably, were apocalyptically...
Read moreThe farmer's market itself deserves ten stars if it was possible. They had wonderful selections, great prices, and everyone was nice, polite, and helpful. My only complaint is with the gift shop. I purchased the La-Tee-Da! Effusion Lamp Fragrance for the Home in the Perfectly Pomegranate scent. On the bottle cap there is a lift and sniff flap that when lifted had a wonderful aroma. I just had to get it, but when I get home and opened the actual bottle there was an offensive odor similar to isopropyl alcohol not the same as the scratch and sniff flap at all. The fumes were so strong and overwhelming that it burned the inside of my nose, throat, and eyes as I sniffed. I am disappointed because the representatives told me that it was to be used with the La-Tee-Da! Lamp that they were out of but I figured I would purchase one on a return visit, and I told them this. They could have prepared me for this and tell me that there was a difference in smells from the flap and the actual fragrance and warned me of the offensive odor for when I opened the bottle. I guess the lamp can seperate that offensive odor from the actual fragrance. I don't know and I don't care because that was just horrible.
I updated my review from 1 star to 5 stars because the farmers market is great. My issue was with a product purchased at the gift shop which...
