DO NOT GET MARRIED OR HOST an event at this venue if you are planning on having any kind of high energy sound- live or recorded music. Remember it’s a parking garage.
My friend just had her event here and it’s $$$$ to decorate and host a high end event here. My friend raved for months about her band and was so excited about her band. Only to find out the venue requires the band to use an electronic drum kit and does not allow subs. They also force the band to use the venues own in house sound team- they bring the smallest speakers I think I’ve ever seen for the band and DJs to use. Like I know music, it’s everything to me…That bumping beat sound and low end that creates an energized atmosphere was missing from my friends party. Imagine a DJ without the bass sound.
What came as a surprise is the strictness with the sound volume which ruined the quality of the band. I was carrying on a full conversation with my friends on the dance floor speaking at a normal volume and could not hear any of the singers and barely the instruments. I have videos to prove this.
I approached the band and bands sound team to inform them of this issue, although I’m sure they were aware because the crowd looked confused and kept commenting that they couldn’t hear the band. I felt terrible for the band and my friend- it ruined the raging dance floor experience that every party should have. How can you dance if you can’t hear or feel the music? It was awful- but we made the most of it.
The band apologized and said the venue (Chris and Monica) kept turning down the main speakers that the venue controlled. I assumed there was a noise ordinance but last time I checked Miami Beach has an 11:00pm ordinance. The venue turned down the speakers starting at 6:00pm, right when the band started. The band leader said the venue production supervisor, Chris said it was his job to walk to the corner of 17th st and if he could hear noise/voices, the speakers would have to come down. That’s how they determine volume?!? Not even a decimal reader is used?
The frustrating part is the bait and switch. The venue is promoting live music and DJ music but they aren’t equipped to handle this because I assume the neighbors complain. This is unfair to clients spending an enormous amount of money to hold a wedding or event here. Let’s face it, the music is EVERYTHING!
If you want a rocking party run away from this venue. Do not book your event here. It’s an open air garage, they should not be hosting any event where a dance party is requested.
Also the wind up there, man, such a huge issue…someone at the wedding showed me this photo of an art fair they attended there (see photo of people holding up art fair wall below because of the wind). The wind shields ($20K apparently) blew over and the rain came pouring in- ruining the art work. Could you imagine?! Those poor artists…I’m just glad it didn’t rain for my friends party, I couldn’t imagine that catastrophe.
The venue is unique and with the right decor budget, it’s cool. I personally don’t think it’s worth the risk due to potential weather issues. And the fact that the venue is dishonest with sound volume. They advertise that they “allow” bands and DJs but that’s simply false because who wants to hear music on the lowest volume. They really should state that they allow a string group or small boutique style music group, max 4 acoustic musicians because that’s all the sound and venue is equipped to handle. That should be extremely explicit and after speaking with my friend, it seemed like it wasn’t. Everyone, including the planning team, was in shock listening to the low volume so it seemed as though this was not explicitly discussed prior to booking the venue.
Another thing…There is no way to hold the venue accountable if you disagree with their sound “opinions” in the moment. Its subject to the production coordinators hearing…not even a decimal reader that is a technological tool used to determine sound volume. Doesn’t seem fair or right. I would never recommend this sort of...
Read moreBEWARE....they are scammers! Avoid this place, it’s no wonder it’s empty and barely anyone parks there. No prices displayed, when you get your ticket it clearly indicates a maximum of 20$. Expensive but I was in a rush so I decided to go for it. I was parked there for 5 hours and upon exiting the fee became 40$!!!! They reset the clock at midnight no matter what time you enter so the fee gets doubled. Insane and shady since Lincoln road is a trendy area and most people go there to walk and dine pretty late and most likely you won’t get back to your car before midnight. Completely disgusting tactics...if you were to park for 20 minutes from 11:50pm to 12:10am it would cost...
