I was contemplating on writing a 1-star review however the more I thought about it and how it was handled both times I must speak the truth.
Chubbz (now over 6 years old) had been at Freedogm for the 1st 4 years of his life until Francine had to close for 2 years and reopened the first of this year. Chubbz started back march 2023 and everything was fine until October 3, 2023. Thatās when Chubbz was attacked by 2 other doggos fighting that Chubbz happened to nearby when the fight broke out. As a result a severe wound from a bite mark was found on his back between the neck and shoulder blades. Deep enough that the staff called immediately and I took Chubbz to the vet for treatment and medicine. Meanwhile NO other doggo was hurt or injured not even the ones in the fight.
Letās proceed to the 2nd incident on October 19 Chubbz was again viciously attacked from 2 doggos fighting. Again Chubbz was standing around watching what was going on only to have those 2 doggos turn and attack Chubbz. I was told it was only a scratch and no need to take Chubbz to the vet. Then Francine stated to have Chubbz rest and kept home will suffice. No need to seek treatment. Francine called it āBad Luckā that Chubbz was involved in another doggo fight that was not caused by Chubbz. However, this time not only did the back suffer another deep wound on his back but his whole left leg was mulled. I had Chubbz vet doctor look at his wounds the next day and confirmed the wounds and viciously attacked again. More damage was done this time around. I spoke with Francine on Monday October 23 about the 2 times being attacked and no other doggo was injured in the process only Chubbz. I had to remove Chubbz from this facility. I was not about to let this happen a 3rd time.
I personally do not think that with Chubbz being the gentle giant for being a large English yellow Labrador retriever that Chubbz would be mean, aggressive or anger easily. My Chubbz loves all doggos and loves humans as well. Not a mean bone in his body whatsoever. Furthermore not once did Francine offer to pay for treatments or care. It was stated that I signed a waiver releasing their responsibility, which I will never do again. Francine should be held accountable and this is the best way to inform future customers to be mindful. I never would have thought that this would happen to me or to my Chubbz. It just goes to show where...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI took my dog during the whole year as well as in the previous installation. During my vacation, I left her there. My dog does not like tough play. She normally sits in a side. She was bitten by a dog. She received a wound of 3X4 cm and big enough to need surgery, anhestesia and stiches.I was told she was playing when another female dog attacked by her back left torso. My vacation stopped the moment they communicated that to me. They took to a vet and procedures were done. Since that day she had to keep separated because she had stiches and an ecollar. I know that accidents may happen, but why did they allow an aggressive dog to be there? And I decided to write this because what I found later. They returned me almost 1/3 of her dry food. I left a note with instructions to give one cup (with my measure cup) at breakfast and 2 cups at dinner. The dry food should be mixed with wet. I also left enough wet food in case she did not want the dry with wet. I put in the note that normally when she went to the dog care, she sometimes asked for more food, and was ok to give an extra cup. Thus, when they returned me almost all wet food and 1/3 of dry, I asked what did you feed her? They said one cup at breakfast and one at dinner of dry food and her treats. I left her treats. I said, why did you feed less than 3 cups, that is her needs? They told me it was a mistake. A mistake? How many mistakes?? If the dog does not eat, when you mix dry with wet, you need to throw away, but giving me back the dry food, means they do not even try to give it to my dog. I am feeling so bad I left my dog there. She may starved at night. When she does not eat, she top eating. My poor dog was hungry when I took her home. And apart from that, her wound, stiches and all she has to go through until she recovers. Now she is scared of dogs too. I would not take my dog there anymore. I decided to write this review because I cannot change what happened to my dog, but you can make a decision if to take the dog there or not. I would not take her anymore and do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI never imagined I would be writing this review as I read and believed all the good reviews I saw here prior to taking my dog there. I have been taking my dog there since October of 2018. I started noticing my dog had small lacerations from time to time and when I asked the staff about these, they would brush them off as if they didnāt know the source of it. I figured it was just a byproduct of ādog play.ā BUT today, 12/20/18 I picked up my dog, had him on the passengerās seat only to notice my dog was bitten while at freedogm by another dog there, sustained a bloody and visible injury to his ear and yet no staff member told me about this although they carried him to me when I picked him up minutes prior. When I called them about this, the employee told me that they had a dog there who ābites everyoneā and that earlier he had attempted to bite my dogās neck and when they pulled him away he got my dogs ear, and thst they put this other dog in ātime out.ā because he is known to act this way. I wouldāve appreciated if this place at least told me about the incident. Secondly, i would think they would not continue to accept dogs they KNOW to be aggressive. At a minimum I expect to be TOLD something happened versus an entire staff, including the owner, playing dumb to these events when confronted. It saddens me but this place should not be given the trust they pretend to deserve. In their interest for profit they will take any dog (despite their claims of not doing this) and risk your pets life over profit. Your dog is...
