I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Moxy Wynwood Hotel. Firstly, the hotel was absolutely gorgeous. It is modern, fun and very colorful. Great place for kids/ young adults or any one looking to have a good time while feeling right at home. I love the apartment style design, its like having a home away from home, and makes the holiday feel like a vacation, but also home.
I loved that it is located in Wynwood, which is also a very bright, vibrant, colorful and a fun community. The beautiful murals, graffiti art and night life that surrounds the hotel ensures that there is ALWAYS something to do within walking distance of the hotel. There really is never a dull moment - whether inside the hotel or its surrounding areas.
The room was spacious and extremely clean. Not a hint of dust or hair in sight.
The staff were AMAZING!! The staff were second to none. Unlike the other Marriott hotel I stayed at several days earlier, I was very pleased and surprised that I didnt have to pay to receive any of my packages. EVERYTHING was FREE and the staff had no issues alerting me when they arrived each time - with a smile!
The staff was extremely friendly, professional, engaging and great entertainers. They were available around the clock whether for room assistance, a quick drink/snack or to help pass time with conversation. I was so surprised at how hands on and engaging they were throughout the entire trip. I want to especially acknowledge Sierra for being an absolute pleasure. Keeping our company during the late hours and being a great conversationalist, Veronica and Victor for the most amazing drinks Ive had at a hotel EVER!! The Vodka sodas, the delicious Espresso Martini, OMG everything was to die for .. and to top it off they were the friendliest people ever. Veronica didnt hesitate to make me a tea when I mentioned I wasn't feeling well and was constantly checking in to make sure we were alright. Victor kept us entertained in conversation, while he educated us on our drinks and gave us a one of a kind experience. I loved his twist on traditional cocktails. Lastly, the manager Chris... Despite us disagreeing on his choice of football team (as an Eagles fan lol), he was wonderful. Super kind. Very friendly. Very professional. Very engaging. Very helpful. Everyone seemed to enjoy working at the Moxy and it truly reflects in the way they treat guests. This hotel was so enjoyable that even the guests seemed to naturally mesh and enjoy each others company. We met so many amazingly kind people at this hotel that we truly will ever forget - staff and guests alike!
Thank you Moxy Wynwood for such an amazing stay! We had the most wonderful experience, paired with the most delicious and refreshing drinks and great conversation. We definitely cannot wait to be...
Read moreI cruise frequently out of Miami and normally stay in the Brickell area but found this new hotel and decided to give it a try. Loved the hotel and location and although I ran into a couple hiccups that I attribute to working out the kinks of a new property, I imagine I will be back.||The setup on the street made it difficult to unload as you have to find whatever parking you can to do that since the width of the street prevents you from pulling over slightly to allow others to pass you. My taxi driver found one spot across and down the street which meant I had to navigate 3 pieces of luggage across traffic. Not ideal but doable. ||Loved the hotel from the moment I walked in. Very clean. Interesting and eclectic designs. Plenty of seating and opportunities for socializing in the lobby. I checked in on the app and requested a mobile key but still had to check in at the bar so to me checking in on the mobile app is useless.||Room was as shown in the hotel’s pictures. There is no refrigerator, microwave or coffee/tea in the room. However I loved the “stash closet” in the hall to quickly grab supplies.||I was originally in room 627 and found the fold down shelf that hangs on the wall pulling away from the wall. Not an issue for me but wanted to be sure hotel was aware before it falls down. Then I flushed the toilet one time and the water continued to run which resulted in the toilet overflowing and water running from the bathroom into the room. Needless to say I was horrified but the lobby quickly sent Azra who was phenomenal in how she handled the situation even though we were stepping in standing dirty water. Azra arranged for the lobby to move me to another room and helped me carry my bags through the water to get out of the room. She even continued assisting me by going with me to the lobby to change keys and then helping with my luggage to the new room. She politely declined a tip and was so gracious during the entire thing. I felt horrible for the mess she and others would have to fix but she was actually apologizing to me for having to switch rooms! Her behavior and actions should be commended as I have never seen better customer service! Along the same lines, I want to recognize Katherine at the front desk for her sincere apologies and assistance in transitioning me to another room. She had everything ready when we made it to the lobby for new keys and then had to deal with me later when I called the lobby to say I had left my toiletry bag in my original room. Five minutes later she was at my door with a smile, kind words and my bag. Both of these women went so far above normal customer service and should be commended!...
Read moreThe Good: Moxy Wynwood is undeniably trendy, clean, and quirky — exactly what you’d expect from a hip Miami boutique hotel. The decor is fun and retro with artsy touches everywhere you look. The bunk beds were a unique and playful twist that made our stay feel different from the usual hotel experience.
The vibe of the entire property is geared toward fostering social interaction. The bar area is stylish and inviting, with plenty of activities like billiards, shuffleboard, and live music to keep guests entertained. The dinner menu was a standout — diverse, creative, and very tasty. It felt like more than just a hotel restaurant; it was an experience on its own.
The Not-So-Great: Unfortunately, the charm was overshadowed by several frustrating experiences. The rooms are extremely small — sharing a bed with my husband meant I had to crawl over him to get up in the night. There was also nowhere to store luggage, making the space even more cramped.
Communication from staff was a major pain point. We were told our breakfast was included and that our $30 destination fee would be credited toward purchases at the shop, bar, or restaurant — neither turned out to be true. On top of that, breakfast was supposed to start at 6:30am (perfect for early risers), but I learned it actually starts at 7:00am. We waited until 7:15am only to be told the cook never showed up, so we couldn’t have ordered breakfast even if it were included.
Another frustration was the “prepaid rate.” We booked and thought we had already paid months in advance (per the invoice we received), but were charged at checkout instead. This may be a company-wide policy rather than this location’s fault, but it felt misleading.
Finally, the battery in our room’s key card reader started to die, but there were no maintenance staff available to fix it. This meant we had to go to the front desk every single time we wanted to enter the room — not ideal.
Overall: I really wanted to love this quirky and artsy hotel — and in many ways, I did. The aesthetic, food, and social vibe are fantastic. But the miscommunications, logistical headaches, and missed marks added up. I had even considered planning a girls’ trip here, but after this experience, I don’t think I will...
