Captain Ed's Furniture & Mattress — Attraction in Michigan City

My mom tried to buy a mattress from them for 200 dollars, they said nothing about how there was no return policy, they charged 40 dollars to deliver it, the sales person didn't even show us any other mattresses, and the 'mattress' is just a big chunk of foam that compacts down to being about three inches thick with someone sits or lays on it. It was horrible and the worst bed my mom has ever slept on in her life and she has only had it for 2 days. When we called to ask if we could return it or trade it in, the lady on the phone told us that it was our fault that my mom's back and legs were hurting after sleeping on it because we didn't try any other mattresses, even thought the sales person didn't even show us any other ones. She also said that we should have asked about the return policy, where as the only thing I saw that mentioned returns said that it was a 25% return fee. She then said they could only accept returns as it was being delivered and it was a 25% restocking fee and that it was an indiana law that said they were not allowed to accept it back as a return, even though all of the .org and .net websites I have been looking at say that the store decides returns and it is not illegal to accept mattress returns. Absolutely LOVE this store! We bought a kitchen table and chairs that we had previously looked at, but wanted to make sure it was right for our space. (New home) The staff is beyond fantastic. Very helpful and very personable, we were able to get delivery THE NEXT DAY! Every other furniture store we considered were at least 5 days out! There was a $79 delivery fee to Laporte, but for the service and set-up, it was worth it! I HIGHLY recommend looking here first for your furniture needs. Trust me, we were all over looking and kept coming back to Captain Ed's for the 1st class service and prices. My husband and I and our daughter stopped into Captain Ed’s just moving from IL to IN and we were blown away by their show room(s) Lots of selection to choose from! We came in looking for a couch and kitchen table. They had excellent customer service but were not pushy whatsoever. They welcomed us with such warm hearts! We looked around and it was so fun and enjoyable since it is also like a really cool museum with pirates everywhere you turn. They also have a candy store in store!!! Manny was so sweet and Tina was incredible! Our delivery guys Christian and Jeremy were so professional and friendly. We then went back and purchased a bunk bed for our daughter.
