I live on the West Coast (No Aldi) and came to this store for the NON GMO fruits etc while visiting my sister. I read about Aldi somewhere. I had about 6 items in my hands with NO CART and was checking out in a long line when I noticed I had to pay for a bag to put my groceries in. That was cool except the cashier didn't explain the bagging process to me. The customer has to bag their own groceries which is also fine with me but I did NOT KNOW so I put the bag in the conveyor belt with my groceries. I was supposed to hold the bag open in my hand and stand on the side of the register so she can ring and place them in the bag. Instead of just bagging the 6 items herself or finding a nice way to tell me, the cashier chose to insult me by sarcastically telling me where to stand by her, hands me my bag, shows me how to hold it open by the handles like I'm in preschool, then rings the groceries up one at a time of course. She dumps them in my bag. I told her I wasn't familiar with the bagging process and I was SO EMBARRASSED! She said most people have a cart for her to put their groceries back in but she doesn't want to deal with "all that other bagging". I understand the rules however I don't understand the condescension nor laziness when a customer has just 6 items and may be from out of town. PUT THEM IN THE BAG YOURSELF CASHIERS BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER MAY BE FROM OUT OF TOWN! OR...find a way to make the process clear and do it tactfully. You're already ringing groceries sitting...
Read moreOn Wednesday October 13-th I purchased a box of lemon cake which was on sale. The original price was$1.69 an sale $1.18 After arriving home I noticed on the receipt I was charged the original price not the sale price. It was to late to return the same day with the merchant and had to work long hours the next couple of days. So I brought it back to store on Saturday morning. The manager came to dispute it and angrily scolded me for bringing it on the fourth day in front of the all customers in line. she didn't offer any explanation or apology for inconvince. Her attitude was like i came to create a problem with pointing their error out. I am outraged how many people who are out of town turn their car and drive back when they get overcharged it's probably not...
Read morePurchased mostly food items. Veggies, salads, meat/cheese snack trays, cookies, baked treats. I was getting things to put together a charcuterie tray. Favorite item for me are the dark chocolate coated shortbread cookies. They are a bit more than other cookies but the chocolate coating is quality that has such a great taste. And the pre-rolled meat/cheese finger food trays have what I would use if I was to make my own, the prosciutto & salaries are excellent. I've been shopping at Aldi since I went to their first store in Harvey, Illinois back in the 1980's! You can always find the basics there and lots of imported...
