I won't go in to too much detail, because they like to clap back at criticism. I really used to love this place, and a few employees are genuine and go out of their way. However, I watched them price gouge everything, even delivery went up several hundred dollars. If you ask about this, you will be told they thoroughly investigate things online before making a price tag, and a few times I heard, "The term THRIFT is used loosely here, and this place should not be considered that at all" They did get out of paying me unemployment because they won't fire you, they'll pressure you to resign (for whatever you are going through) and there were a few employees there that were flat out scary and malicious behind their customer service smile. I stopped going in after it became obvious how greedy they had become, and after a certain employee I had issues with before insisted on approaching my husband and baby and acting overly nice to them after I would walk away. I wouldn't donate anything to them, look through the other reviews about how they're abusing the "charity" programs they participate in. This place no longer passes the vibe check and is moving in to taking advantage of naive people and those in need. I wouldn't apply for a job here either, you're not going to like the mean girl dynamic you're going to walk in to.
*The stuff you buy REALLY needs examined before you buy it. Took home a bunk bed missing almost all the hardware (super not safe) they will fluff things that are broken, to make it look better. Nobody will tell you if there's something wrong with your item but will absolutely sell it for 4times it's actual worth. Stay...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst thrift store in history. I'm an avid thrifter and this is the ONLY store I have never made a purchase from despite multiple attempts. Why? PRICES. Think $25 for a blender from the 80s with food still stuck in it. $20 for a junk toaster caked in crumbs. Furniture prices are basically full retail for items with obvious flaws and outdated style. Really makes you leave muttering "how is this place still in business?"
After looking deeper into this company, it appears to me they inflate prices specifically so they can make money from agencies (some of which are government funded, meaning our tax dollars are possibly lining their pockets) that give out assistance vouchers for furnishings. Once you realize that, it all makes sense. Ask sky high prices, get bigger reimbursements from these agencies! The thrift side is basically just for show, the stuff doesn't seem meant for the public. For a "non profit" that is supposed to be "helping" people, it reeks of greed. Plain and simple. They even CHARGE people to collect donations, something literally every other thrift in the area does for free. Stop giving this company your items, stop paying them to take them. It's absurd. The state really needs to look into this voucher program and the price inflation that is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDespite the poor reviews we went with an optimistic attitude. We didn't have any interactions with employees, so can't speak to that. But the reviews about the outrageous prices were spot on. If they'd lower the prices I can't help but think they'd move stuff and make more money. We actually saw the exact barstools we bought on Amazon just a couple months ago for which we paid $150 for a set of four. This place had three of them priced at $200. EXACTLY the same stools. We were looking for beer mugs, but they wanted $4/ea for what Amazon sells for just a bit less. I understand it's for charity, but judging from the shelves full of glassware, they aren't selling much at their prices so not much is going to charity. I am hoping that some of these reviews about their prices being so out of line will motivate them to think again about their pricing strategy. I'm always more inclined to shop at places where the money goes to charity, but with these prices it makes more sense to just write a check to the charity of my choice and...
