3/1/25 Update: there is someone here with a dog...we exercise here ....dogs a dirty walking outside stepping in poop and tracking it inside where we sit on the ground and work out. They just built the new greater Midland community center and it feels like they did everything wrong. The facilities are too small and don't have enough classrooms for classes. The parking lot is too small and consistently completely full. The overflow parking lot is not connected to the main parking lot so you have to drive way around the block in order to get to it. There's constantly kids in the gym. And there's men and women in spandex as their entire workout outfit that reveals everything about their bodies. I'm not interested in seeing every crevice on every human's body just because I want to work out. Poorly designed poorly ran completely inappropriate

Went here for the annual foot race, June 1, 2024! My son and I did the 5k walk/run, both was our first official race. The times to start was confusing as my web receipt said my race started at 8:30am, but it actually started at 7:50am so we missed it! What a terrible feeling. I spoke with someone in the center and she was able to get permission for us to still do the race. So we did ours along with the 'Girls on the Run', which was awkward but at least we got to participate. We ranked last in the race d/t starting it 50 minutes late, but we finished at 45 minutes, which would've ranked us in the mid 20s-30s placement. Bummer. All well. Other than that hiccup, it was a great day! They had a nice selection of refreshments set out after the race.

So disappointing! New pool area is so unsafe. And they know it is. My son's friend fell hard yesterday, goose egg size of a baseball, no medical attention, because short staffed she said. Was told by the lifeguard and SECURITY officer that "don't fell bad, you're not the only one that's fell there" . Then told me kids have been falling on that area all day (in the hall) and we have construction coming back to redo it. AFTER HE HAS FELL. no security precautions were taken to prevent more CHILDREN from falling there. No rubber mat placed there , no roped off area. They said THEY HAVE SEEN KIDS FALLING THERE ALL DAY! These are kids that are not running, you can't even run in that area. No texture to the floors at all. The lifeguards, were CUSSING at kids. Several parents heard it, some reported already. No I've was given , but then said I had to wait to get incident report ... While he's sitting there in pain. The incident report was not filled out yet so I'm hoping to get a copy. Several parents witnessed the events today. Specifically I was there at 4-530 when we had to leave for medical attention, and I paid 30$ for adult a 14,13&2 yr old 7$ person from 6 months to 17 9$ for adults. But since Ice is not available for injury there, there was no medic and very very understaffed where the only one to aid was in a hurry to get back to her life guard station and said she couldn't help because she was the lead on the floor. I'm so upset the way it was handled. And so confused why safety precautions were not taken if they watched SEVERAL kids fall in 3 hours!!?? Rubber mats, anything could have been placed there. The only floor sign there was unseen from where you are coming and you can't even see the sign until you already came around the corner and fell. Knowing it's unsafe enough for them to already have called construction back , the area should have been closed or roped off, and not jeopardize safety to meet the opening date. It's been open less than a week and so many kids have already been hurt. ..... Money should not...

This facility is managed so poorly. The close early on Fridays. (One of the busiest days at the gym)

They say they have a 24/7 facility but it’s a little off shoot down stairs with 1/4 of equipment, no squat rack and the dumbells only go up to 50lbs.

They also only extend hours by a mere 30 minutes outside of summer hours which is absolutely ridiculous. Why not just stay open till 10pm like most?

The child watch A/C has been out for the first 3 months the facility has been open so I can’t drop my kids off in fear they’ll be in 80+ degree temps inside.

You can only have your kid there for a max of 90 minutes and if you go even 3 minutes over they kick your kids out even if they are not at maximum capacity.

They used the incorrect metal for the pool during construction now it has to close.

If your card expires or you change it for any reason they charge you a $15 dollar fee if the payment doesn’t go through.

You need to give them notice before you stop using them. (Basically feels like a contract)

If you lose one of their little plastic cards they charge you $50 per card before you leave.

They also don’t check anyone in? Why am I paying $87 a month if you never even check to see if I check in at the counter? Just walk in they won’t stop you I promise. I do it all the time and they don’t say a word.

If you are looking for a rec center? It’s okay at best.

If you are looking for a good gym. STAY AWAY. Better off going to planet fitness and...

New community center set up is awful. It's probably great if you have kids but if not it's just a complete downgrade in almost every possible way when compared to the previous facility.

The locker rooms are tiny and set up in such a way that the floors are always wet and there's not enough room for people to change without being constantly in each other's way. Also I don't believe the 24-hour fitness part has access to a shower so basically got to drive home gross if you actually use that part, huge disappointment.

They used to have a really nice hot tub for adults in the adult locker room, so after a workout you could relax and recover. Now they have some shallow hot tub in the communal pool area, with the kids, set up so a bunch of people can be in it. There's basically no chance you can actually relax because you got kids jumping around and splashing you plus the water is so shallow you can't even get the Jets to you upper back or shoulders.

The gym area itself actually seems to be smaller with less square feet than previously, it seems like there are also less machines and types of machines.

They reduced their hours and the hot tub closes earlier than it used to, so if you don't finish working out early enough it's just not accessible, unlike when they had one in the locker room.

Overall it feels like they removed many of the things that made the gym the best choice for me previously. Looking...
