Cottage Inn Pizza Midland — Restaurant in Midland

Cottage Inn has been a go to for my bf for so many years now. I swear they had a different location years ago but I'd have to ask my bf where he first started going to them. It's definitely been like a decade and always under the same name.

My bf and his friends always love the food. Normally a pizza with cajun butter crust even if he has to mix it and add it. Though today was weird. Never called in a complaint once but I decided to get some food (not a fast food person) so I got a small salad, my bf got a large salad and jalapeño cheesy bread. I took advantage of the items available and hooked up what I thought would be a banging salad. When I finally got it and started de-pitting the olives I was like woah where is most of what I ordered?!

I dug around (again it was a small so easy to see everything) and even had my bf use the fork to lift areas as I read off the order. I went all out but didn't get half of what I even ordered or paid for. My small salad price wise came to $15.99 whereas my bfs large salad came to $16.99 (just to show I paid for extras). There was no minced garlic, mushrooms, green olives, extra black olives (or any black olives), banana peppers, salami, blended cheese or ham (both of which I paid for extra amounts), or italian seasoning. I just got the basic menu salad. If it was because it couldn't fit into the small salad box then why offer extra options which is all I can assume is the issue because my bf and I both ordered pepperoncinis and I got one whereas he got multiple but we were charged the same which is truly messed up because the price didn't change but the serving did.

When we called in the person that answered they immediately said they watched the person add all the toppings. But to which salad?! Because mine was so basic and my bf's had everything since we had ordered most of the same stuff. What annoyed me was that we said right away WE would drive the salad back (we gor delivery) so it's not like we were trying to steal food. But still first thing was "I watched them add all the ingredients"... Then how did it still fit in the tiny box? And how did it only have lettuce, lite parm (becauseI expected extra of the blended cheese), 4! klamata olives (all with a pit), several small bits of turkey, and a good amount of the grilled chicken that looked good (didn't try it).

I was having an awful day today, in pain and didn't want to cook so my bf recommended salads from his favorite pizza place. It took an hour to be disappointed and called a liar even though anyone would notice that many things missing from a SMALL salad. By then I didn't want to wait another hour for a replacement especially when the company didn't believe us and might tamper with the food even though we offered to bring it in. I definitely wouldn't pick those things out to screw a company over for $16... 🙄 How do you even pick on minced garlic and italian seasoning 🤷‍♀️

The sad thing is, is that my bf offered me a bit of his salad which he got with caesar dressing but they add sugar to it because it was slightly sweet?! He'll eat almost anything and ate some but threw the rest away and just ate the jalapeño cheesy bread which he said were the best he ever had and wished he didn't buy any salads and just got 2 orders of the bread sticks. We agreed we will never get salads from pizza places again so we learned our lesson and will only get their things they're known for. I'm just hungry af, not feeling good and waiting forever for my food to cook so still...

I ordered my pizza online it said 30 minutes to pick up when I arrived at cottage inn Pizza I went inside and there was no one at the counter three times someone approached the counter but never asked me if I needed help, even though I made eye contact with them! finally standing there I got the idea to call them from inside the building so that's what I did when the boy came up to answer the phone he picked it up and said cottage inn and I said yeah can you let me know if my pizza is ready he looked me dead in my face and said is that you and I said yes it is I've been standing here for 10 minutesand that one single person is asked me if I needed help and three people have approached the counter. He said I'm sorry let me check and see if it's ready he came back few seconds later handed me a box and said $16.95. I paid him the money but I should have looked in the box before I left when I got outside I looked in it and it was not my pizza by this point I was furious. I walked back inside and told them I don't even want another Pizza I will just want my money back. Well she gave me my money back but in the meantime she was explaining to me that it was her first day on the job as a manager and that she had to call the owner back to get help and I really didn't understand what all of that had to do with not only no one approaching the counter but me getting the wrong Pizza but whatever I got my money back so I guess! She did tell us we could have the pizza but the only thing it had on it was bacon and green...

I ordered online. When I got there I was told 5 minutes. Then I found out they had completely forgotten a part of my order. It was 25 minutes past my initial ready time when I finally got my food. I was given a 50% off coupon for my next order but I don't believe I will be using it after watching and listening to the employees.

The kitchen is pretty open and listening to them swear and speak poorly to each other as well as about customers was interesting. One man was the worst. He came in the door shortly after I arrived. He came in like a whirlwind "straightening" the papers at the front counter then proceeded to bark orders at the others. I witnessed him take a customer call where he was rude and then told his coworkers how it's customers like that............where the 5 customers waiting for food in the lobby could hear every word. Very unprofessional especially if he was a manager.

Finally, I watched one employee wipe his nose with the back of his hand and then make a salad for a customer with his bare hands. YUCK! It was equally off putting to see all the long hair and beards with no hair nets or beard nets.
