Avalon Salon for Hair and Nails — Attraction in Millburn

I was HIGHLY dissatisfied and disappointed with Avalon Salon especially since I have been going there for the past 2 years. Lately, everytime I have an appointment, I have to wait. My hair dresser seems to always be overbooked, despite the fact that I had numerous conversations with the owner about this. I have to be sharing my appointment slot with other clients and lately I have to have another hair dresser finish my hair because my hair dresser is taking care of other clients at the same time. The LAST TIME (and certainly will be my last) I asked for a different hair color. First off, the color was very dark and it was not the color I wanted. Because of the rushing/overbooking, I was told to come back to finish my hair. I was charged almost $300 for my hair that was not the color I wanted and was not even finished! The owner told me he would take care of it to just let him know when I could come back. I texted/called him SEVERAL times and everytime I got MANY excuses. When finally we were able to agree for me to come back, to fix/finish my hair I would have to pay for these services. Are you kidding me? After I paid almost $300 (hair color incorrect and not finished) I would have to pay AGAIN!! Absolutely not! No hair costs $500 (I have short hair by my shoulders). Let me begin with the excellent reviews I got from my friends before I even looked into it. Booked online for a haircolor and keratin treatment very cool... $200 for the service.

Was very excited about same day appointment and great reviews so I get there on time... greeted by my stylist and everything is excellent. I get the treatment done which took a standard 2+hr etc. Good conversation, bad coffee, excellent hair job...

AND THEN.... I get the bill ... $385 (+ tip of course)

The receptionist tells me that the website needs updating so the prices are yet to be revised. The price is decided by the stylist. The stylist tells me that's the price because thats the treatment I opted for even if I booked for something else online.

BTW... I spoke with my friend about this and she had a very similar experience but failed to mention it to me earlier because for her it was a small price change ... $90 instead of $60 for a hair color.

So basically ... everything was great other than the price change without informing me. BEWARE that their prices quoted online are not the prices they will charge. Discuss the expected price before you start...
