La Strada — Restaurant in Millburn

Service is good here, they are attentive and polite. One of the waitresses was chewing gum the whole time, if I were a manager there I'd have her spit it out.

I'm from Queens, NY, and I'd never say we have the best Italian food as I haven't eaten in a ton of places and don't consider myself a food critic. However I do have some standards. This place's food tastes like public school lunch to me. I'm not trying to belittle anyone, just my humble opinion.

Lasagna was luke warm. Soup tasted like typical diner soup. The pasta and sauce were mediocre and bland. The salad dressing came in a takeout type of plastic container...so...this is not really a Italian restaurant as I expected it to be. This is your neighborhood pizzeria with some seating in the back. There are soda dispensers in the front, I should have known...

Again, not to insult the workers as they seem to try their best. The quality of the food is just well below what expect when I go out for...

My wife and I went for the first time on a Saturday night in March at 7pm. It was fairly crowded but we got a table right away (we made a reservation, but they had open tables anyway and would have gotten a table immediately without one). We were in and out in an hour, even with the appetizer (no dessert).

This is a BYOB place, and we brought a bottle of wine (no corkage fee). We had fast, friendly service despite being pretty busy.

As far as ambience and attire, it seems middle-of-the-road: some people were dressed very casual (teenagers in sweats), while my wife and I had sweaters and jeans and didn't feel out-of-place.

The food was good: we had the Mozzarella en Carrozza appetizer, chicken parm with spaghetti (it was a lot and we took some home), and the chicken Murphy. All were good. They served us salads as well.

This was a good place for Italian if you want something not too fancy but not too casual, either--it's right...

Great family restaurant, plenty of inside and outside seating. Great customer service. Very good pasta dishes but we usually go for the pizza slices. My wife loves the thin Sicilian slices of broccoli rob with sausage, while I usually go for either plain or once in a while, 1 slice of the chicken BBQ which fills me up. 👍🏼👍🏼🍕🍕 "👋🏻Just a quick edit & update on La Strada."
