Free Grace United — Attraction in Minneapolis

The HUB is an awesome thing. Great food and great coffee plus a great atmosphere for the homeless. Unlike many places designed to help the homeless there is no blatant drunkeness here and it doesnt feel like a jail, or rather its not dehumanizing. The pastor is a wonderful fella and Ian in parficular is an amazing barisya and theyre both great for having a conversation about ones spiritualiry or spirituality in general with. Theyre non denominational so they arent going to try and "convert you" which is great for me because i follow a traditional native american (Anishinaabe) spirituality while maintaining core Christian values and the story and teachings of Christ. I called there today after months and the pastor knew who i was by my voice immediately. I have this place to thank as it was instrumental in getting me out of homelessness by providing a safe warm environment for me and my young wife to make plans and concentrate our efforts on getting off the streets and starting our life together. This is one of the most amazing places to get a cup of coffee or tea and a bite to eat. It is essentially a Church located in a coffee shop and as well as being a place that is designed for worship it creates its worshipping everytime someone orders a latte chia tea with milk... This place caters to a segment of the population that would otherwise not be able to patronize other establishments do to economical conditions. Thank you! Grace in the City!
