I agree with one of the reviwers. It is very expensive. If you compare the price with the grocery stores in other states then it is extremely expensive. It is expensive even compared to the nearby stores. I would recommend going to close by indian grocery stores. Parking is also one of the main concerns. I would not go there next time. It is not the only indian grocery store in the city and consumers today have choices.
I am not sure if the indian eating place called Hyderabad House is owned by Patel grocery, which is attached to the building. I along with my friend decided to try out that place after shopping at Patel grocery and boy that is very expensive and low grade service. There was no such thing called service. The supposedly manager was almost sleeping on his chair and customers had to get their own water including silverwares. There was nobody for the refills as well. As being a student in the hospitality industry, I could tell from my experience that the food was cooked in the morning and they would use the same food throughout the day. If they ran out of something then they would not make more as they ran out of one time and that was the answer I got. I noticed that some food items were placed on warmer which is a good news but guess what the bad news is??? The warmers were not turned on!!!!! So they were cheating customers!!! I dont know if they were trying to save electricity as warmers do consume good amount of power. I paid $9 for lunch buffet and it was the worst food and service in my life. The funny thing is, they even had a place on the receipt for tips. I am curious to know who would tip them for such kind of food and service.
Please do a favor to yourself and eat at Mc Donalds or any other fast food rather than eating at Hyderabad...
Read moreI love this place. My main purchases are their lassi from the dairy fridge, canned Alfonso mango, and then I grab all sorts of other fun stuff from their wide selection. They have both imported food and products as well as Indian-American and continental versions. I see the Indian food they sell at Cub Foods here as well as things I’d only find shipped online. They have an amazing sweets case with tons and tons of stuff to try, and wonderful bilingual staff who were happy to explain the different treats to me, give me a sample, and assemble a sampler plate to bring home. I love their dry staples, get lots of rice and dal for great prices. They also have simply the best assortment of bulk spices. Nearly anything you could want, from conventional American spices to authentic Indian and East African and Mexican. Cannot complain.
Have previously not had a great produce experience there and haven’t tried their butcher, though their produce has looked fresher lately. I’m pleased they sell good looking banana leaf and a few other niche items and will try those in the...
Read moreThey sold us a rice bag full of moths. When we opened the bag the moths started flying inside the house. We had to immediately throw out the 20lb of rice, and disinfect our kitchen. Not only did they refuse to refund, they wanted us to hold on to that infested bag for 2-3 days and bring it in. We live in an apartment and will be fined for any infestation. We tried to explain but their response was terrible and the guy started yelling at me for throwing out an infested Bag of rice. We have been buying from them every week for 6 years, we will NOT BE RETURNING. They need to learn professionalism and basic human communication. Somebody should teach them customer service.
PS: It is also not COVID-friendly. There is no way anyone can maintain 6ft distance in...
