Did you know there’s an easier way for wheelchair bound individuals to gain access to the beach shoreline? Well I didn’t either. Courtesy of generous donations, there’s a wheelchair with GIGANTIC AIR-FILLED WHEELS to make navigating the sand much easier. This is a godsend for those wheelchair bound individuals and their families. The chair helps riding across the sand more effortless. You never knew you needed this until you did. Thank you Mr. Dylan we appreciate you!!!!
This is a white sand beach and it is truly beautiful for the eyes to see. Standing on the shoreline you can see the difference in colors of the water, which is due to the sand. Also funny to note, the sand IN THE WATER has various levels, on minute the water is at your knees and the next it’s at your ankles.
The waves are steady and often times fierce in strength. Glad to see that the powers that be post various flags to advise of the current strength, the presence of wildlife in the water and an indication/warning of heat advisories that may be present.
Love the showers that are located at the top of the ramp, great for pre or post showers for body temperature acclimation and or cleansing from sand.
Clean restrooms at the top of the ramp are available for your use prior to, during, or after swimming. This is PHENOMENAL having them in place, it's always when you need them they're hard to find. Having young kids in-tow, I PERSONALLY welcome CLEAN BATHROOMS.
Ohhhh and I also love that there are trash receptacles at the base and the top of the ramp. Discard those empty containers, broken umbrellas and unwanted food items if you please. This beach is super clean and it’s great to see everyone is chipping in to keep it that way.
My advise if you’re coming to be a temporary beach-bum: bring your chairs, ice coolers, tent/umbrella, towels and an attitude ready for fun. This is an awesome way to cool off, let the kiddies burn energy and make some memories at the same time.
Happy to have been here; I will return to make...
Read moreWell it's so safe and convenient. I love that it has the bathroom's. It does have showers on the outside, but only two. So the wait can be a bit long. But it does have a lifeguard on duty there which is a really good thing for families in particular. The beach is really clean and the Walton County Sheriff's department and Beach Patrol constantly come by there. So it really is a safe place even at night. The parking area has dim lighting so you can rest there but also feel safe. And it does have a restaurant right there Pompano Joe's which is pricey like all the restaurants down there now on the beach in particular but the food is good in the service typically is good too. You can get permits to have a bonfire on the beach they give instructions you know I provide all that you need I believe you can also buy dog permits providing that your dog is always on a leash and I think that's that way for most of the public beaches that are there in Walton County and maybe Okaloosa County as well. But you can find out all that information online and they've got Walton County tourism and 30A Representatives that...
