We reserved 3 nights at this hotel and our experience definitely started off on the wrong foot. First, we were overbilled from the quote we received from booking this hotel. We reserved a room and received our confirmation number with their stated pricing. When we got an email from Wyndham, the room rates were increased. Needless to say, we called the hotel and they prompted us to call Wyndham direct, which we did. Their response was to contact the hotel.
But wait, it continues to get shadier. And if this reminds anyone of the classic “Bait & Switch”, well, it’s because it was.
Anyway, while speaking with Wyndham customer service, a very nice gentleman “Adam” from India, he told us that, and I quote, “To go ahead and use the reservation and they’ll resolve the issue in about one week.” I kid you not. For those Generation Z’ers, there was this technology employed in the past that would take this long of time…it was referred to as a stamp.
As a long-time business owner who has traveled the world, this raised red flags about the quality of upper management of Wyndham. There is no excuse for their IT department to allow up-charging for bookings. This is a very rookie mistake. More importantly, this shows ineptitude of their processes, allowing for problem solving or resolutions to take so long. One week! Really? This issue should have been handled within 15 minutes.
But I digress. We researched the hotel again and found the rates were actually cheaper than what we originally booked it for. We canceled our initial booking and reserved the room at a price savings. So that worked out for us. However, I’m still shaking my head at Wyndham’s poor management practices.
Now when we arrive at the hotel, the greeting we received was exceedingly friendly. In fact, all of our interactions with their staff were superb. Also, the breakfast was decent, about what you’d expect for this level of hotel, so no problems there. Additionally, the room was nice with a very comfortable bed and a large mini-fridge that actually kept things cold. The location was a short walk to the beach and did I mention that their staffing was excellent.
So why only one star you ask? Good question.
Well, our first night started off with the upstairs neighbor running around their room from 2:15a to 10:30a (I can’t make this up). The next morning we requested a room change, which they happily granted. The first room we were offered, there was a stain (not old) on the comforter and a hair on the sheets (not one from the top of a person’s head).
So we asked to change rooms again. The next room there was a blood stain on the sheet. Not being a CSI expert, but I can recognize fresh blood stain versus blood that’s been washed…and this had not been washed. Finally, our Goldilocks experience got us a third room which was just right. They put us on the top floor and so we thought everything was solid. Come to find out, our new next door neighbors was a couple with a child who was allowed to run around in their room…A LOT.
Although everything about the hotel was good, the quality of the flooring is for S*! Seriously, probably one of the worst hotels we’ve ever stayed at where the cheap, laminate flooring just amplifies the noise.

Read morePROS- Okay so I stayed here 5 days && 4 nights. My boyfriend and i drove to Miramar from Texas. I’m mainly making this review to help others because I was worried to stay here since some of the reviews were really bad but I decided to stay here anyway because I loved how pretty && modern the property looked. Which it did, the place was exactly as pictured! Everything was cleaned well when we first walked in.. Room was so spacious. Bed was more on the firm side, but super super comfortable! I loved the lighting in the bathroom from the mirror, the walk in shower, and the two TVs in the deluxe king room. Hotel was very close to the beach and the pool looked nice! Room had Cold AC. And loved the window in the room. Hotel was in a very good location as well.
CONS- We arrived for check in at about 4:30. When we walked up to the counter we were not greeted at all. Girl just had her air pods in which to me looked very unprofessional and she wasn’t very friendly either. She had a very heavy accent too so I couldn’t really understand her.. but the main thing was that she didn’t smile and looked like she didn’t want to be there. -room had a weird smell to it when we walked in. -wifi was horrible it kept disconnecting over and over again. -walls were NOT sound proof (or very thin) you could hear children crying and dogs running all over the place from our room. It was soo loud.. which made it difficult to fall asleep 🤯 -water in the shower didn’t get very hot. -since they don’t provide room service keep in mind you will be doing your own. You just leave all the dirty towels and trash outside of your door and have to go down to the office to ask for more of whatever you need. Which doesn’t seem that difficult BUT when you’re on vacation and spending close to 2k for 4 nights it’s not something you feel like you should be doing. It’s just an inconvenience to have to be cleaning all throughout your stay because it feels like you are wasting time.. oh and try not to get sand in your room cause unless you brought a broom or something its gonna be very annoying throughout your stay lol 🙂 Also as you’re leaving your room there are dirty towels and bags full of trash all down the halls and to me that just doesn’t look clean. 🤷🏻♀️ -breakfast was a grab && go bag. Wish they provided more.
So overall.. the place was brand new, beautiful and clean. However you are not getting your money’s worth because the hotel does not provide room service and doesn’t have good breakfast which is supposed to be included with the price. I would only stay here again if there was nothing else available && because of the rooms being pretty, not because of their staff making me feel welcomed. I do believe this place would be better if their front staff put on some smiles and actually acted like they cared about...
Read moreI wish I was able to give this hotel 0 star rating. This hotel has bed bugs!!!! The smoke detector also needed the batteries replaced. Never have I experienced this until I stayed here. I was bit all over my body. It made my entire vacation miserable. We notified the manager and he moved us to another room. He said they can't have the pest control company there until Friday! It was Tuesday when we reported it. We had to go to a laundry mat and spend $50 to wash all of our clothes and spray down our luggage so we didn't take them to the room we were moved to. We got into the new room and checked the beds. The sheets were stained and gross. I asked for them to be changed. The room was dusty and there were crumbs in the corners of the beds. The shower curtains also had stains on them. On top of all of this they charged my card twice amounting in $2300! The manager said it was a MINOR error and the hold would be released at checkout. So that's $1000 we were unable to use during our vacation. I had to go to urgent care to get medication to help with the bites as I was extremely uncomfortable (more unforeseen expenses i had to pay)+. The doctor confirmed it was bedbug bites and provided medication to help and documentation. We checked out 8/1 and I called the hotel 8/6 to get documentation from them about pest control since they were supposed to go 8/2. The manager said they were unable to make it out and supposed to now be there 8/7! By now the bedbugs have probably moved to nearby rooms! They did not take this seriously at all! The manager also refused to provide me a full refund. He said, it's not my fault you decided to stay, I gave you a partial refund and points!--- Who cares about the points! I had to suffer through my vacation so my 8 year old, 5 year old, 7 month old and husband could still enjoy their time in Florida. We were so excited about this vacation and planned it for a year!
