Had 2 adults and three children 3 and under and they charged us an undisclosed service charge at the end without telling us. Then showed us in small print its in the very back of the menu where no one reads because there are no menu items on the back page. I complained about it but the woman I think she is also the owner, said “its because people don’t tip”. I understand, I work in the service industry myself but they should not be doing that where it’s not obviously disclosed. Not once did she ever mention we would be charged a service fee for 5 people its normally customary with 6. Mind you we had babies. We will never be returning again! It’s better to be honest and fully disclose and let people decide rather than to lose business. We are locals too that just moved back and came here over other restaurants because we liked it so much but this definitely put a bad taste in my mouth. I also did the math and this is over a 20% charge on the bill before taxes unless she’s trying to include all the taxes and then after do the charge and ultimately it doesn’t matter because it’s absolutely ridiculous. Even though I expressed my concerns she did nothing to correct the fee. She doesn’t have any wait staff she’s the owner and wants to complain about tips…...
Read moreThe restaurant is decorated with thoughts of the sea which is in its name. It was very clean and comfortable. We had the Raspberry-pineapple fizz which was bubbly and refreshing. A lovely presentation on all the dishes! We received generous portions of the Beef pad see iew, and chicken krapow fried rice. The dishes weren't heavy in oil. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. For dessert we shared mango cheesecake, and mango & sweet sticky rice. The sauces on both were yummy and not overly sweet. The mango on both dishes were ripe, fresh, and tender. Our favorite was mango & sweet sticky rice. The flavors were subtle and the sweet sticky rice was warm and yummy. This is a naturally sweet dessert. The mango cheesecake was the sweeter of both desserts. We happened to be served by the owner. She was very polite and full of smiles. She even gave us ideas for the Destin/Miramar area for when we bring our family to visit. We very much enjoyed our dinner at...
Read moreOMG Went to have some Mexican at the restaurant next door and they were closed-permanently!!
Looked up and saw Talay Thai. My wife has to be careful with seafood allergies so we went in a little skeptical.
Once inside...we were greeted by a very nice lady who we presumes was an owner. She was pleasant...we order fried and fresh spring rolls for the four of us. Absolutely delish! Then we ordered our mains-my wife ordered the Pad Thai w/chicken. I ordered the Rad Na w/seafood (it came out almost like a soup, and the gravy was so flavorful I couldn't stop slurping it up!!) and my sister and brother ordered their meals...Udon noodles w/seafood and Shrimp, Scallops and Pea pods, served with jasmine rice.
Everything came out together, hot and very fresh!! The flavors were spot on and the spice was done perfectly!!
We could not have been happier and this restaurant is going to be added to our local stops!!
Thanks so much...
