Loved it! Good value for about a 2hr tour; $5 per adult less for kids and the lowest entry for things to do in Mobile. The gift shop was great for souvenirs and to build unique gifts for your own home Mardi Gras nod.

The galleries are amazing with the Mardi Gras King & Queen outfits. Saw Junior lads & lasses outfits and there was a short documentary to watch before going through the museum. There is also self guided tours via cell phone with which you can go to website to listen to. Highly recommend bring earbuds to listen with.

Photos & paintings of the history and fantastic outfits through the years. I saw one photo of a reigning Queen that was from 1903, but there definitely many to drink in the fantastic regalia. Truly a unique experience to get a feel for the pagentry that is Mobile's Mardi Gras.

Would definitely love to go to Mardi Gras in the flesh to see it...

Debra and I did a Staycation due to southwest canceling our flights to Kansas City. We headed out to have brunch and visit the Mardigras Museum. We had planned on walking however, It was pouring so we drove. We entered the facility via the Guft Shop, and was greeted by two employees! The were sweet as pie!! One lady took our wet umbrella and storied it but the door to dry out and the other engaged us in conversation. Local or visiting? We chatted for a bit, paid the entrance fees, and browsed the shop waiting for out time to start the tour via the prerecorded video. We spent about an hour touring all three floors of the museum. As we were leaving, a gentleman (staff) was kind enough to engage in conversation, we learned more about local...

You cannot miss this museum! It was so interesting and the costumes were out of this world. We had a private tour and he gave us a detailed account of the Mardi Gras history and culture in Mobile.

There is also a clear explanation of the mystic societies that date back to 19th century. The masqued balls, the parades, the costumes - all these traditions continue today.

We saw some unbelievable King and Queen attire, a video presenting the court, elaborate (and coveted) invitations to the masqued balls.

There is also a float you can stand on and pretend you are throwing beads to the thousands of people that line the parade routes up to 3 weeks before Ash Wednesday.

I will say this again: this is a MUST SEE museum on your...
