The live band was fantastic and they made up for the food which was not good at all. Our waitress was great considering we had a party of 23. It was my husbands birthday. Best spot is on the top deck with the band I wouldn’t have had it any other way. Table was set beautifully. Thank you bunches!! Is $89 per person worth it honestly no. Plus the drinks are pricey! Good but pricey $12 and up. To compensate for the food I would ask they consider adding a full hour to the trip (we were back about 15-20min. early). They should also provide at least two options for dinner. Fish or just a veg option. There is no buffet (If there was a buffet we wouldn’t have wanted it) . The food was luke warm. We had small chicken breast, two maybe three baby shrimp if you were lucky, potatoes, and hard sweet potatoes and bread that was hard at the bottom. Dessert was a dime size flat tea cake with blueberry sauce on it (I think). Glad we had birthday cake. We shared the cake with everyone on the top deck. Again the band was awesome!! They played a very wide range of music for everyone. We had a range of ages and all enjoyed the music. They made our trip great!! koo do’s 5 stars for you all getting an awesome band. Ride was smooth perfect atmosphere. Even the people downstairs were coming upstairs to enjoy. I would say at least experience it one time for yourself. Our group did have fun. The band and waitress made the trip!

Was the perfect choice for our Anniversary. We did the dinner cruise, top deck. Weather was perfect 72° and a full moon. Beautiful views. Live music was perfect for dinner. Service and drinks were excellent. Boat itself was comfortable and the staff was very helpful. The length of the trip was also just right. However, the food was lacking. The servings on our plates were very small. Just 3 shrimp and a half a cup of jambalaya that wasn't flavored well. This is the Mobile Bay. Both seafood and Cajun food should be much better than it was. I felt sorry for all the men because that wasn't enough food for them. The absolute empty plates lacking even a grain of rice scraped clean should be an indication. The salad, green beans and roll were good, again just such small portions. If the main course was just better that would have improved the lack of the rest of the meal. Hopefully that part of our experience will improve in the future. But we will look forward to another trip again one day. But we will be checking first to see if the meal has improved beforehand. Thank you for a great experience though.

Reservations were easy, used their web site. The boat is parked / boards directly behind the convention center. Parking is in the garage below the convention center, and easy to park close to the boarding area. It was rainy, so you had to pick your way around the puddles to get to the boarding gate, Bring your own umbrella if it is raining. We selected the VIP area, which is upstairs.. Due to rain, they had the plastic covers down to keep patrons dry. There is a band on that level in front, with a sign (Private) separating the dance floor and the dining area. Initially, the band was playing pre-recorded music, and once we were underway, they began playing 60s and 70 hits. One wait staff, she was great. she was working hard to take care of ~20 patrons. Dinner is a Pre-Fix, small dinner salad, chicken, green beans, and a rice ball. Desert was a slice of cake. Truth in lending, it is a boat.. so dinner wasn't the star of the show. Temperature wise, everything was tepid. (not hot) Initially, when the band started playing, it was louder than they pre-recorded music was.. after a couple songs, they turned up the volume.. (I think bands feel louder = more fun).. at this point it was getting difficult to have conversation.. There were 3-4 couples dancing. Then, they switched to more current day music. and turned up the volume again.. a couple folks told the waitstaff that it was too loud, we watched her relay it to the band, and they ignored. We asked to have it turned down a bit, no luck. As a result, about half of the patrons decided to leave the area and go outside to the front of the boat. A small group did a line dance to the current day music, then retuned to their seats. A few folks from the downstairs (enclosed) area, came up to check out the band, stuck their head in, and then left. back downstair or stayed outside. I gave it 3 stars; good effort, poor execution.

Excellent scenery and ambiance. Clean, nicely decorated, great service, courteous staff. Today’s cruise only sailed south to the river entrance and then north to where Africa town Bridge was visible and back to dock. The disappointment of the dinner cruise was the food. My impression was they went as cheap as possible and still call it a meal. Website stated meal was a salad, chicken, shrimp, and vegetables, roll, and chef’s choice dessert. We were served a jambalaya which had a good taste but only 4 small slices of sausage, 2 very small hunks of chicken, and 4 tiny shrimp mixed with the rice. Green beans and a white roll were included. It was served luke warm but I understand they had to prepare it off ship so temperature was expected due to the situation. The dessert was served at 30 minutes before return to dock and was a nice looking slice of apple pie with whipped cream. I attempted to take a bite of the pie and realized it was frozen solid. My wife’s pie was frozen too. My wife went and spoke to the server and was told all their pies were purchased commercially and that frozen was how they arrived and there was no way to heat it up and no takeout container to take it home with us and heat and eat later. Overall, we enjoyed the cruise because we were doing it for the cruise scenery, not the dining experience. The cruise is very expensive for what it is when you factor in the meal quality that was well below a normal dining out meal should be and no edible dessert. If it was marketed as a river cruise and not a dinner cruise, I think it would be more accurate advertising because anyone wanting dinner would be sorely disappointed.

Set your expectations low. Food was a disaster. Cold, shrimp was not fresh, sausage was dry, rice tasted like it was from a box, salad was wilted and the desert brownie was hard like a brick . Glad I read the reviews before coming so we stopped and ate something on the way. Party was upstairs and we decided to go upstairs. A few of us seen a sign that stated private as if the top floor was private to those upstairs. So we hung out near the rails for the duration of the trip. My expectation were to announce that we are all welcomed upstairs. So we basically sat either at the table or outside listening to the stomping from upstairs. It’s definitely not worth the money. Looking at the reviews everyone has the same complaint. FIX IT. Obviously the company that caters to this boat don’t care about reviews or people’s stomach. I called and spoked with a young lady to let her know the issues but we were disconnected ( my end). I called back and spoke with a guy and he was very rude and had the audacity to justify this horrible food and how so many people like it. NO ONE likes cold and stale food unless you are homeless and starving. The male decided to challenge me about my experience. So I had to hang up on him because I can sense his neck rolling as if he’s the cook. The ONLY things that were great were my server and ALCOHOL I don’t usually complain but this definitely needed to be said .

Atmosphere, experience, and service were great. Boat was very stable and easy to get around. When underway, it's very slow and with little wind. We brought a light jacket for my wife and didn't need it over the whole night. There was live music upstairs filled with mo-town classics from a four-piece band including a lead singer, two backup singers with keyboards/chimes, and a drummer. Performance was in a semi-enclosed space with adjustable windows. Even with all the windows rolled up, the music was quite loud inside the area we were eating in upstairs. We were unable to talk to anyone from our group that was more than one seat away from us. Our group was very disappointed with the quality of the food we were served, which was essentially cafeteria food. Proteins consisted of a seasoned 1/3rd of a chicken breast on a stick alongside two chewy/slimy shrimp on a toothpick. Sides were rice pilaf and zucchini with bread pudding for dessert. A partnership with a well-regarded local restaurant or catering service would put the Perdido Queen experience into the stratosphere. Food from a place like The Royal Scam or Wintzell's Oyster House for dinner would be a game-changer for the overall experience.
