I was visiting my family and decided to stop by a couple of sports cards stores while I'm in town to build relationships. Looking online, I noticed there was a store in Monrovia, CA called Hall of Fame Sports Cards. I walked in looking for cards to purchase and I also had the card attached to possibly sale or trade. Informed the sales rep that I was in town and I wanted to stop by a couple sports cards stores. I asked the sale rep. If they buy cards? He stated yes. I handed the rep the card. He looked at the card (2019 Panini Prizm DP Gold Vinyl Prizm /5 #37 PSA 10 POP 2) for few seconds. He then stated no, can I tell you something...I believe this card is fake because gold vinyl cards only 1/1. I thought to myself, how in the hell do they have sales rep. working here that doesn't know sports cards. I felt like it was an opportunity to education him. I showed him online that gold vinyl cards come in /1, /5 and even /10 for some card variations. I told him that is like me walking into your store and stating all your cards are fake, you don't know me. I hope it's not because of the color of my skin. Then, his voice raises and he proceeds to go get a rep from the back. We he came back with the rep. He wanted to get his point across speaking loudly, not allowing me to speak as he was poking shoulder, I asked him to not touch me and advised him to do better and educate himself. I will never go back there. I will spend my $$$, where I feel welcome. Customer service is everything to a business. I used to work in customer service for over 24 years, currently retired. I would have gave Hall of Fame Sports Cards a big fat 0 rating, if possible. Do better or you won't be in...

The owner, Erik Newton, called me and was very rude/unpleasant on the phone. Claimed there was "fraud" issues that arose on his end and told me he was canceling/refunding my order. Erik stated that I could complete the purchase over again to make sure my CC security code on my card was inputted correctly.
I made the purchase over again within 10 minutes using a different CC and emailed him to let him know. I was rudely responded to over email with this -
"Your second order came in with continued red flags on our fraud analysis. It has been canceled and refunded. We will not be able to process any future orders from you on our website. Please do not attempt."
There is absolutely 0 fraud that could have occurred as I double checked my home/billing address and all my card information 3 times over before processing.
I think this guy is making excuses and intends on raising his prices (price gauging).
If you are a collector - I would steer far away from spending your money to support a business with someone that treats clients disrespectfully.
Blown away at how I was spoken to over the phone and via email. Wish I could post the voicemail I was left on my phone on here for everyone to hear!
I'd rate them a 0 star if I...
