āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø | A true partner for gorgeous and, budget-savvy kitchens

As a boutique, family-owned design-build firm specializing in IKEA kitchens, we partner with Semihandmade on project after project! Their cabinet fronts consistently elevate our installations, giving our clients that ā€œcustomā€ look, smart functionality, and dependable durability without blowing the budget. From first call to final punch list, Semihandmade helps us deliver kitchens our homeowners love to live in!

What we appreciate most is the incredible quality and consistency of their offering. Whether a design calls for DIY (paint-ready), Supermatte, rich Walnut, or their designer collaborations like Sarah Sherman Samuel, we can always find the right style and finish to match the home—and it shows in our results. Current lead times on core lines (DIY, Impression, SSS, Supermatte) have also been reliably clear, which makes scheduling far easier for our clients and trades.

Semihandmade’s process is contractor-friendly and client-friendly. The ā€œWe Create Your Cartā€ service is a quiet superpower that reduces ordering friction and errors, while their in-house Design Services (creditable to the order) help homeowners visualize options—and help us align the details early. It’s rare to find a manufacturer that streamlines both the creative and the logistical sides this well.

We’re also excited about Semihandmade’s BOXI cabinets—US-built, assembled boxes available in many Semihandmade finishes—which give us another quality pathway when a project calls for an alternative to standard flat-pack boxes, while still keeping that modern, clean aesthetic our clients ask for.

On our end, we bring deep IKEA expertise, meticulous installation, and a warm, personal approach as a husband-and-wife team serving the Seattle–Eastside area. Pairing that with Semihandmade’s materials has become a signature of our work; together we’ve transformed everything from compact condos to full-scale kitchen renovations with custom fronts, clever hacks, and thoughtful details. Our clients consistently comment on the polished look and value of these kitchens—and we hear ā€œI can’t believe this is IKEAā€ all the time.

Semihandmade is more than a great product line—they’re a great partner. Friendly, responsive, and genuinely invested in project success, they make our job easier and our clients happier. We’re grateful for the collaboration and excited for many more beautiful...

When we started designing our dream kitchen, we knew we wanted the elegance and flexibility of custom cabinetry, but without the custom price tag. Semihandmade delivered! Their cabinet fronts completely transformed our IKEA cabinet boxes into a space that looks & feels elevated, timeless, and unique to our home. It turned out better than I ever could have imagined!

We chose the Shaker DIY fronts, and painted them ourselves. We did need a few coats, with sanding in between. A bit time-consuming… but, the result was buttery soft, beautifully detailed cabinetry that feels far more premium than its price. I have to say that the panels are incredibly well-made, and the paint finish has held up beautifully, even though the fronts have been taking daily wear and tear for the past almost-year.

Our kitchen is finally functional and beautiful. The cabinet fronts, paired with our brass hardware, dark granite countertops, and wood-paneled ceiling, couldn’t be more perfect.

The quality is top-notch. The doors and drawers feel solid and smooth. Their customer service was responsive and helpful throughout the process. I had a lot of questions!

The final finish is matte, rich, and very forgiving. We loved being able to customize our look affordably by combining Semihandmade fronts with IKEA cabinetry.

If you’re on the fence about Semihandmade: don’t be. I feel like their cabinet fronts are truly the secret to getting that high-end, designer look without blowing your budget. WE LOVE...

Poor quality and poor customer service.

Background: our kitchen and bathroom are featured on Semihandmade's website are have been used to promote their products for years. The pieces are about 6 years old.

The problems started less than 3 years after installation — the cabinet surfaces started separating and warping near our oven. The company said it was our fault, despite this being a very normal situation. So, grudgingly we paid to replace them.

About a month ago, large swathes of our kitchen and dining room just started coming apart. The fronts all over are completely peeling off (see the photos for a small sample of what's happening). There's no way to repair them. Despite the fact that our kitchen has been used as their promotional material for years, the company said there was nothing they could do and that we had to buy replacements and pay to reinstall them. After arguing with them via email, they then said that it's past their 5 year warranty, but they'd offer a 30% discount if we ordered new ones. But they frequently run "20% off sales"; in fact the there's one running right now.

Summary: Semihandmade doesn't stand by their products; the pieces are cheaply made and not suitable for regular use. When confronted and asked for replacements — not even counting the cost of labor — they offered us effectively 10% off. This company sells products with a 5 year lifespan that then have to be thrown away. Don't get tricked. Spend your...
