Read moreAs a former NCAA xc athlete and running store employee, I know a few things about running shoes. I’ve been running in NB 860s for about 5-6 years since my college career and like most runners, I’m very skeptical of change when it comes to a reliable pair of trainers.
The sales associate, Cedric, told me that the NB 860 had changed a lot with the most recent update and that the feature I really liked about it (wide toebox) wasn’t quite the same. So I tried on this updated 860 and sure enough, Cedric was right. I hated the fit! He grabbed a few other similar shoes with a wide toebox, including one I’d been looking at for a while, the Hoka One One Arahi. I loved it immediately and the fit was way, way better. Thanks Cedric!
A good local running store (like the one I used to work at!) can be the bedrock of the local running community. Being new to Montclair I’m very happy to have Fleet Feet in the area. I hope they’re able to organize some group runs and races when safe to do so. Local businesses like this one need YOUR support now more than ever—please come here instead of Amazon, EBay, etc! Those online retailers don’t give you the same service as your local running store, and they don’t support your local running community! Just make sure you call before you come in for a fitting—don’t just walk in...
Read moreAfter buying a pair of Hokas through Fleet Feet’s online store (I didn’t want to wait for shipping, and FF had them available for same day PU), I quickly realized that my feet—or more specifically, calves— do not appreciate a low drop. While Fleet Feet does offer a very generous return policy, I wasn’t sure they’d take the Hokas back with quite a bit of mileage on them.
Enter Kate — not only was she more than happy to refund my purchase of the Hokas, but she patiently had me try on close to 10 different pairs of high drop trainers that are better suited for me. I ended up with a pair that I think I’m going to love.
Despite logging quite a bit of volume over the last 10 years, I’ve bought most of my trainers online through major retailers. After today, I don’t think I will ever do that again. Going in person and having somebody knowledgeable help me find my best option, was such a fantastic experience. I’m genuinely so impressed and will absolutely recommend Fleet Feet to everyone going forward (they also have a great selection of Feetures socks, Lululemon, gels/fuel, watches, etc.) — very happy...
