Cash Wise Foods Grocery Store — Attraction in Moorhead

The prices were good. The reason I gave a 2 star is because we decided to get a few items and we got to the establishment 5 minutes to 10. I understand they close at 10 and workers are anxious to get home because I, having been in customer service, can understand what they were going thru but they don't have to be rude at closing time. We separated and ran around the store getting the items we needed. A worker stopped me as I got my last item and asked me to head to the checkout. I stated I was heading that way and looking for the person I came in with. She said she saw him up front so I proceeded to the checkout. As I approached the self checkout, a man, I'm assuming was in charge, began to rudely demand I go to the self checkout when I stated I was looking for the person I came in with. He then pretty much stated he didn't care and that I had to check out immediately because he was gonna close the till and had to do his updates. I started to check out and the person I was with came with his item. The whole time I was checking out the till kept saying assistance needed and I asked why. He said because they were now closed and the till was ready to shut down so if it did, I wouldn't be able to purchase my groceries. We checked out as fast as we could, bagged our items and left without so much as a "have a good night" or "thank you for shopping here". I looked at the receipt when we got home and it showed we checked out at 10:03 and we only had 19 items! It's not like we did major shopping and made them stay open for a long time. I usually don't write bad reviews but I felt like this had to be said. They didn't have to be rude and if they were any sort of customer service, they could have approached me differently by asking if I needed help finding something cuz they are now closed and must have everyone out of the store. People have bad days and I guess this was one...

2.5 rating for me since I prefer to shop online. That said:

Pros: In store shopping? The employees seem helpful and caring when you ask questions or need help finding something. They have a great selection and I like their fresh and gluten/dairy free choices.

Cons: online shopping needs serious work. I usually shop online through Instacart at Hornbacher’s Azool or Target pickup. I tried using the Cash Wise online order pickup this weekend and I’ll never use it again. Despite saying yes to any replacements the shopper found suitable, the shopper didn’t choose any replacements for items they were out of. I would have taken replacements of other brands gladly. They also got the wrong size of cans, provided an 18 count egg carton with 5 broken eggs (shattered and sticky - so been broken a while) and charged me for one item I didn’t get at all. Zero communication until after you pickup and realize they didn’t choose replacements for out of stock items.

The employee who helped me fix the issues at customer support was very kind and attentive. I shopped the replacements (easy alternatives found in store) and after 3 total visits for this order, left knowing I’ll never use their online shopping tool again. Will always opt for Instacart pickup at hornbachers. In store shopping at cash wise is fine but they need a better system, better communication, and better shoppers that have...

The bakery so so awesome! I grew up with a mother who made cakes. It was a hobby. She made her first wedding cake when I was 4. She was amazing at it. She has since retired from her hobby. I don't make her do birthday cakes or anything for my family because of it (even though I know she would) anyways that is my background of knowledge. I have 2 children the oldest being 11 years old. I believe all but his first birthday cake has been made by the Moorhead Cashwise bakery. My daughter's as well. I have had cakes for other events too. Also gingerbread man cookies and frosting to go with them. Amazing!!!!! They ALWAYS give me wonderful items and I always get a ton of complements at every function. We have another graduation coming up so guess where I'm going for cake! I strongly recommend them. Not only are their products good but the staff has been wonderful as well. They are always willing to help me out with all our crazy ideas and we always figure out something....
