Red Hen Tap House — Restaurant in Dilworth

Yesterday was my first time at The Red Hen, and it's easy to understand why. Tucked in behind the CVS off of highway 10 this hidden gem is easy to miss, but certainly worth stopping in. The tap house has a clean, well-maintained look that makes it seem as if the place had just opened, but on the contrary, this establishment has been slingin' drinks and serving food for the last six years. After looking at the menu and taking the advice of the helpful bartender I chose the Chicken Cordon Bleu Sandwich. Something I usually wouldn't get, but is a popular choice. I brought my daughters here for a Sunday lunch, and the food was AWFUL. The fried foods were over fried and they initially sent the wrong order out but the server noticed and had it fixed right away. The nachos were also wrong and when I requested for them to be fixed, they took back the order and added the missed ingredient and sent back out what the same plate they originally served. That’s absolutely disgusting. They returned them cold and didn’t even try to make it look like they’d done anything to serve a decent dish. What an embarrassment. Update after card refund:

Overall we had a good time. The sit down to drink order time was good. However, from our drink order to receiving two drinks was over 20 minutes. Server then only took orders from 4 of the 5 of our party and walked away. Had to wait to order for the fifth person after the rest of our food came out. Multiple people in our party had our cards double charged, but when I checked the next morning, they had refunded me back 👍

All that said the trivia was a great time and had fun questions throughout a good mix of categories! Host did a great job on timing, and the in-between question music...
