People there are definitely nice, their price for a shop isn't bad at all; however, I was not pleased with the service I received, fully. I felt as if I was rushed. I asked for a recommendation for hair products and received answers that seemed not only disingenuous but also to kind of stop talking. I took the hint so I decided not to annoy someone, especially when that person is providing a service for you. I had also called and made the appointment specifically so that I could have a beard trim, a straight razor line up/shave, and a hard parting. I had also mentioned it to the stylist in person. I asked again toward the end of the service as a non-confrontational reminder, for all those tasks to be done. By the time the cuts were done I was ready for the line up/shave. I asked a third time if that could be done, once again, non-confrontationally because there's nothing worse than an annoying customer. I apologized because I could see the stylist was visibly annoyed. I felt as if I messed up when I did not receive a response from the stylist. He proceeded to then shave and do a line up. The line up on the cheek portion of the beard was decently even; however, the chin and neck portion of my beard were visibly different on either side. Once I paid, I left a hefty tip as a final hoorah so as to not cause a problem, and for the fact that I feel the stylist should have incentive to do better. I will not make another appointment there again, though. First impressions are the most important. Please read the next paragraph as it is important.
I am trying to be reasonable and as honest as possible without being a jerk. Please understand that the stylists in there are nice people. Out of respect for the stylist who performed the service, I will not be naming that person. I'm sure they do a perfectly fine job for normal cuts. They have a lot of competition in the area, especially being in Morristown. I work at a place that requires a lot of physical labor. Every time a customer comes through my door, I try to work with them even if they're the most ridiculous requests, I perform to the best of my ability in everything. I do not feel as if I received that there.
I will be cutting my own...
Read moreI’m usually not one to leave bad reviews, but I feel like I need to make it known. And I am sure they are good for their regulars. But when a customer makes a request, listen.
So here’s what happened …I had a wedding coming up and realized way too late that I hadn’t gotten my haircut. And I was traveling to Jersey for this wedding in Motown. Found this place, saw the fancy setup and the price tag ($45++) and figured they’d be able to handle a simple cleanup. I even specifically told the barber I just needed a light trim, nothing drastic.
Big mistake. Huge.
This guy went to town on my hair like he was creating some masterpiece. When he was done, he literally told me to take a picture because it was “the best haircut ever” and I’d want to remember it. I’m standing there looking in the mirror trying to figure out how to politely leave. My hair wouldn’t comb over properly, he completely chopped off my cowlick in the back, and the whole thing was just… off.
I tried to make it work for the wedding but it was rough. When I finally got back to my regular barber, he actually looked upset for me. Said it was completely uneven and he’d have to do damage control. That’s when I knew it wasn’t just me being picky.
Look, if this was a $20 quickie cut I’d probably just chalk it up to lesson learned. But 50+ bucks? Come on. I get that everyone has off days, but the overconfidence while actively butchering my hair was something else.
Lesson learned for me .,.never book a haircut in a panic. Stick with your regular person or just show up to the wedding looking a little shaggy. Would’ve been better than this...
Read moreI’ve been going here for 3-4 years and Doris usually does my hair and she usually does a great job. However yesterday what I didn’t appreciate is that they raised the prices (which I expected because of inflation) but what upset me was that they only decided to tell me AFTER and then told me they’re trying to change the price on the board (I got the what used to be 35$ deal) I was not happy, you can just put a post it note or a paper with the new prices over it. I can’t afford it anymore. PLUS, she didn’t even do the shave/eyebrows/etc that comes with it! I’m a teacher and cannot afford close to a 50$ haircut, especially when the things that come included did not happen. I’m going to find a new barbershop. Peace out.
Edit: the owner replied but didn’t recognize the hairdressers fault to tell me about the increased price due to her promotion as well as the fact that she didn’t do any of the other things included in the package. The owner should talk more responsibility in what goes on, especially with regards to clients. I will still not be coming back because I cannot afford a haircut from here especially with the dishonesty and...
